Needles to say, looking forward to a return to the decks here, and alongside me ship mate, John Kane. Lots of great tunes to be had, especially from Ginger's box of tricks and Jools, no doubt will have a few surprises too....keeping it fresh!. Advice I'd to get there early, for both parking and seating as it's always very busy early doors. I'll also have tickets here for July's BIG Summer In The Park Sundayer.

RAFA CLUB NEWTON AYCLIFFE PAT BLEASDALE 5TH SEPT 2015
Hi Paul, this is reality, isn't it?...the real stuff...more people should be engaging in nights like this, they should flourish all over the u.k., a necessity to not keep pandering to the oldies routine...if it has to be oldies, then let it be the myriad of forgotten ones mixed in with the stuff that never got out of the starting blocks. i think the fact that you are quietly going about your business without kicking up a fuss serves to enlighten people's concept of the scene..i'd rather scream it out loud, but you guys are reserved, allowing the vinyl to do the talking.....taking a leaf out of your book is what a good many could still do, if they had faith and the capacity to give their crowds the faith as well. anyway, am really chuffed aboot gannin' oop north, if yer wants me ta spin a few vinyls, man!..alreet!!

Stafford Reunion, on hold
same here, a constant reminder is regret, thee venue to have attended but not on the scene at that crucial moment in time....how the scene has changed and diversified, is owed largely to the statement of intent, Stafford made. December must be a time of reckoning for the likes of me....put to rights the misdemeanors!....

Tall Paul (Spinner)
In complete shock since saturday, when we first heard the news of his illness and that he had been admitted to a hospice.....it's the inevitability of it that is so crushing...to know almost for certain what that means, but still coming to terms with something so shocking and even greater the shock, that his passing should be so tragically swift...there is no justice in life when people who you respect and love are taken for no good reason..all we have is the unfair logic that the good die first, they certainly die too young....Paul was both as well as being a great dancer, he WAS a good friend..there are a lot of places where he filled space, that will lie empty, missing his presence and charisma.....sincere and deepest sympathy to his immediate family and to his life partner, Carol....god bless and keep you, the big guy is watching over you...amen

Engine Shed - Wetherby 02/05/2015
earl van dyke included a version on his solo lp,with keyboard accompaniment...however, this is the original unmixed backing track. it saw light of day as a part of a set of cd's via florida based, the singing machine....a karaoke business, who licensed tracks from motown...the first deal ever to include original artist vocals and backings anywhere in the world. this happened back in 2004. they were, however, only available in the states..there were 12 cd's in all, probably now deleted but included amongst the titles were "shake me wake me", "uptight", "get ready", "tears of a clown" & "this old heart of mine". i sent a copy of "nowhere to run" to richard, who instantly played it on his show on smooth radio, the reaction was amazing!...longtime ago now, but i still keep the copy i had cut in my playbox, simply because it is a genuine unissued track.

Fantastic Four Motown Cd Due Soon
wow!...that's a complete surprise, yet again a valid representation of the contribution, unsung groups such as this made to black music and sadly, a relatively unappreciative motown.....well done ace/kent!
