Attended at 2:30 this afternoon, the weather though cold, has been kind and a good attendance, be it also on a live feed for those unable to make it for whatever circumstances. The service was relatively short but concise, and i'm pretty sure it's of comfort to Steffka that so many people held Dave in such high regard. And a lovely celebrationary wake accompanied with a few tales involving the much loved and wickedly funny Mr. Rivers. Done proud today for sure...he'll not be forgotten..god bless😉👍🙏❤️ Hopefully others who knew him best will comment here.- New 45 - Soul Direction - Ann Byers - I'm Not Gonna Cry - Your Love Is A Wonderful Thing
Correct Alan, i think the test press was also Goldmine😉👍 why that didn't happen, who knows...but you've put matters right!- Salts soul collective
This is a top class function, been several times now and it certainly dosn't disappoint. It's taken a long time for west yorks ( in particular ) to throw off the shackles of tradition....far too many functions plying the same merry-go-round of universally accepted oldies and sterotyped that if it clears the floor it dosn't cut it. It's a sterile attitude i feel, personally. There is a distinct reminder here of current venues, Ashton Uky and CVH ( Culcheth Village Hall ) and befire that, Lowton Civic, Prestwich TSOP, and from my neck of the woods, The Lea Manor Hotel, Albrighton, Shropshire.....all the venues followed the TOTW ethic and trademark....Salt collective aspires to follow the same path, and rightly so.😉👍- Anglo American Auction: Finish - 6pm - Thursday 10th April -

Paul, i reckon if anyone had a right to say it how it is..it's you and maybe folks on here have been waiting for someone to make a statement, who knew him best, you'd fit the bill in every way. I heard the news early Saturday afternoon, as Andy Dyson messaged Tim Brown during the coutse of his function at the Golden Lion in Tod...out of respect Tim felt it inappropriate at that moment to say owt....other than yourself and Barry Maleedy amongst the few, no one knew Kev better. I'm sure everyone on here will gratefully thank you for saying the words you have....and Kev definitely would. I thing you summed up to a tee , if you broke kev's exterior down, underneath he was a genuine, honest, likeable hard working bloke...on another level as a dj, with a record collection second to none....held in such high esteem, he was always the go-to guy for the last hour anywhere, and folk waited for his sets because they knew they were always on-the-money. There's an almighty void been left, because he was a proper promoter as well, resident at the Lowton revival for 7 years and resident at Culcheth, as well as many other places...no one can fill his shoes in the same way. God bless Kev Murphy, we will miss you more than you'll ever know, and many thanks Paul.- KEEPING THE FAITH - PART 2
Ive removed my previous comments as matters have moved on very quickly and the dilemma we were faced with has disappated very quickly. As a result this function will go ahead, with future dates promised too, much to the relief of Phil, and myself also. Hopefully now we can concentrate on delivering a top night out and folk who were previously anticipating this event, can look forward to supporting to it without any more distractions😉👍- KEEPING THE FAITH - PART 2

Giving us all a good idea of what to expect from Fred Benson, here's a recent playlist of his....gasping for breath at the end of this, i reckon so....how good should we expect the night to be?😉👍🎵💃🕺🎶- The reunion soul at shepwell
No location?......well, it's sounds like Shepwell Green Social Club, in Willenhall, w.mids And...1 dj?, seriously??- Event Review: Golden Lion - Todmorden - All Dayer
Thanks for the input, all quotes will be taken on board and we'll certainly try to rectify matters, thanks for coming, much appreciated😉👍- Event Review: Golden Lion - Todmorden - All Dayer
Yep, ridiculous really, especially for me early on. In the event it got turned up anyway after the lad in charge had left i think...he was saying it was too loud, probably because he couldn't hear what folk were ordering at the bar, he also said the speakers were vibrating though, i'd put that down to too much bass. Sorry it disappointed in that respect, it did improve after, upstairs was very good as well. Possibly sit down and have a chat again with the manager because overall it was a success. Had Ginger been available it might have been ironed out sooner. It's the guy's equipment as well, upstairs and down and he set it all up so we didn't really have to mess about with anything, it's not satisfactory though, i agree. We'll try and resolve this issue at some point though, and preferably before the next date is announced.😉👍- Event Review: Golden Lion - Todmorden - All Dayer
Spirits recovering now, but definitely not dampened despite the weather yesterday...but it is a dale, and dales attract wet weather. Yesterday was just pure sunshine music, for 10 hours. A truly remarkable and incredible response to the hard work put in behind the scenes, the advertising paid off and the music did what it said on the tin. Many thanks to Jordan Wilson, Soul Sam, Tom Dacey, Bill ' Boogaloo' Murray and Tim Brown for hosting and creating such an impactful event, and an honour for me to contribute too. Most of all, a heartfelt THANKYOU to our unfortunately incapacitated host, GINGER TAYLOR...i am sure we as a collective, wish him a speedy and successful recovery from his illness, and send all our love too.❤️❤️❤️ I've posted a review on the event's page on fb...it, due to the nature of an immensely hectic day and the fact it was held in two rooms, was unrealistic to curate the djs playlists....besides....we were all having so much fun, and there was a great age range present to. Needless to say, mine and our host at the hostelry went above and beyond in catering for folks needs....and the Thai food in the venue is stunning!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I can, however, say that you or anyone who observed, took pics, danced or even just passed through, as folk invariably did during the course of the day, would testify to a no-holds-barred exhibition of some of the finest and rarest tuneage there is, in this part of the world. Todmorden's soulful heritage, triumphed again, and several hundred folk will nod their heads in approval as a result. Above all Ginger Taylor and Tim Brown ARE the town's greatest assets...and it's heritage. Tbh. Tim said he wouldn't be surprised if there was a drop off after the initial post New Year spend...an awful lot of folk waiting until the last minute by the look of it so, more of a surprise they actually all sold. Yes, and perhaps a few eyebrows raised regards the Mel Hayes record.- CULCHETH TWO ROOM SOUL NIGHT
What an absolute blast this room is gonna be Baz, and we'll have to stick us heads in there for a while i reckon..summat we don't normally get the chance to do, on account of missing potential wants n gems in t'other room!....you'll have to get a screen set up wi zoom on it so we can see whats going on!😲😊👍 but, it goes without saying, the music is nothing short of sublime....what a crackin' do it's going to be, appen!👏👏👏👏⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️- Anglo American Auction Results Thursday, March 20th
Just a heads up for members: The next auction will be extended to 3 weeks to take into account the Easter break and holidays. When i have the details to hand i will publish them here, hopefully sometime during the course of today😉👍 - Dave Rivers - Funeral
