  4. Must have imagined all those recordings made there before that then...should I have said "when Motown started using production facilities located in Los Angeles which were influenced by psychedelic rock music"
  5. Says someone who is frightened to use his real name and hides behind an "amusing" pseudonym

I had a Gwen Davis about 4 weeks back - think I listed it for £100. Bud harper, I'd ask £125.
  7. All sorted now,I did mail himfirst thing this morning explaining what had happened, just got this reply Hi Pete! Problem solved. The next highest bidder wanted it. Gary
  8. Thats what I was thinking! Two years late, great seller!
  9. I'd rather not thank you, you big freak
  10. 111 votes at the time of writing that, 49 of those did not vote for the "I like it" option so I'm not on my own here

No it's Sam, my little boy. He likes george Freeman.
  12. I like hundreds of soul records made in the 70's, I grew up with them - Al Green, Invictus label, detroit Emeralds, that sort of stuff and they are fantastic still. But you're asking about 70's records and Northern Soul and there's only a handful I like and these are throwbacks to the 60's sound, which for me, is the true sound of Northern Soul, not some disco record made in 1975. This usually brings a retort of "narrow minded" "blinkered" or "donosaur" but it's always from the 70's lovers, trying to force their views and their crap music on people who have no interest in hearing it. You don't hear of 60's afficionados trying to worm their way into modern rooms and get them to play 60's music.
  13. Yes, I only ever see it on pale green, the dark green looks the exact shade as the Barbara Mercer on Sidra label doesn't it
  14. I said that above..
  15. Read the whole topic you silly sod, I didn't run it over, I placed it there.

What? George Freeman is a fantastic record!
  17. Yes. On vinyl. Orig is styrene
  18. I love the photo Ritchie sent up with the woman in prison, if you blow it up she's got a box of records in her cell

Butch has got it, he got it off ebay when everyone else totally missed it
  20. I bought a pair of white Evisu trainers a couple of years ago and when she saw them, my Mum said they looked 'gay' my own Mum giving me advice on what to wear!
  21. Tragically, Deep Pan Pizza in Telford has now closed down
  22. Hold up, I'm missing something about the footwear here, is this because I was wearing a pair of cheap trainers about 18 months ago I would refer you to try and find a post called The Curse Of The Chandlers and you will discover why I was not wearing my usual everyday footwear
  23. Honest answer - I'd be too nervous. In the 90's I was asked to go on Radio 1 on a program about record collectors, I passed on it and put them in touch with Tim Brown instead - he did the show and was really good.
  24. Obviously with the Emanons Orchestra getting spins in late 756, everyone presumed there must be a vocal but like you Dave, I didn't hear it - or even hear of it - until the 90's. You sure it was this one Jerry?
  25. Rachel I think you should close this poll and start a new one because everyone is obviously going to vote for the I'm Pete Smith choice because a) they admire my impeccable taste in music and they are jealous of my good looks and hairstyle
