  1. Sorry to disagree but his version of Oh No Not My Baby was fantastic
  2. Both of those are in my all time top 30 favourites!
  3. Sorry Jo, didn't read it properly I'll edit my post, should have thought about it before I posted but it doesn't half make me cry! You may need to edit your reply to me though as it appears as a quote
  4. Deleted
  5. Yeah it is Eddie, around that time 67-68 he cut some stunning tracks like The Loser, Solomon, Walk The Streets, Do I Worry - all are brilliant and in a similar style. He also produced things like Stop That Train and Tonight for Keith & tex, very similar. If I get a minute I'll round them all up on a cd for you.

Karen, there must be a dozen record dealers on this site, why not ask them all if they'll either send your flyers out with their daily post or ad an advert onto their mailing list. I put 4 lists out last week, that would have been seen 4 x 1500+ times...and obviously I'd have done it as a favour for doing my site.
  7. I think you'll be lucky to get a fiver apiece John. Well maybe a tenner for the Goldmine one but these were sold to dealers for around £2 each so they are all over the place.

Only reason I bought that was because I played it as part of my oldies podcast and it actually made me dance around the room, not heard it for such a long time. Anyway when I recovered, I thought I'd buy the next one I saw...

Just want to make this clear that I wasn't slagging you, your gradings or the record Russ, it was just the question was asked why it hadn't sold so I pointed out a fact that's all
  10. Pete S replied to Russoul1's topic in Record Sales
No but you know what I mean, people have less money and are getting fussier about condition, that's just the way I see it panning out, so while it is undoubtedly a great record they are cautious about the grading. The only time this doesn't seem to count is with higher priced records on ebay - I mean did you see that collection of detroit records yesterday, the looked like they had come out of a skip, someone had bid 250 dollars last time I looked.

But Joan - you're overlooking the basic fundamental of record buying - condition says VG, not VG+, EX or M.

I bought a Bobby Wells this morning off Mick Smith for £25...
  13. Si, I haven't played most of these for ages, I loved Kleenex - hedi's head, cos I finally figured out what she's singing..."Hedi's head is sourkraut". Also that Wild Swans record is the most underrated masterpiece of the 80's. Thought you'd like this particular broadcast

  15. Just made one mistake, put the wrong side of Bankrobber on, apart from that, not too bad...could do a better one using cd's but didn't have time https://raresoul.mypodcast.com/index.html Here's some of my favourite tracks from one of the geratest periods for British music - the post punk years. Before it all went pear shaped around 1983 there were literally hundreds of classic 45's released here. sadly I only have a handful left so I've done what I think is a varied cross section, from punk and new wave to pop and rather than just put tons of obscure tracks up, a few of these even charted. THOSE NAUGHTY LUMPS - IGGY POP'S JACKET THE FALL - FIERY JACK THE MO-DETTES - PAINT IT BLACK MADNESS - MISTAKES THEATRE OF HATE - LEGION PUBLIC IMAGE LTD - PUBLIC IMAGE RICH KIDS - GHOSTS OF PRINCES IN TOWERS THE STRANGLERS - FIVE MINUTES FATAL MICROBES - VIOLENCE GROWS SIOUXSIE & THE BANSHEES - THE STAIRCASE (MYSTERY) WAH! HEAT - BETTER SCREAM ORANGE JUICE - SIMPLY THRILLED HONEY THE RUTS - IN A RUT THE HUMAN LEAGUE - MARIANNE THE PASSAGE - DEVILS AND ANGELS THE WILD SWANS - REVOLUTIONARY SPIRIT MIKEY DREAD / THE CLASH - ROCKERS GALORE SNIFF & THE TEARS - DRIVERS SEAT TOM TOM CLUB - GENIUS OF LOVE COATI MUNDI - ME NO POP I KLEENEX - HEDI'S HEAD THE REVILLOS - WHERE'S THE BOY FOR ME TRACY THORN - PLAIN SAILING
  16. Two requests in 5 minutes for Jack & jackie, how strange, clip coming up

£40 off me. How come nobody ever bids like that when I'm selling on ebay? Even saw a load of pressings yesterday going for 15, 20, 25, when I put the same ones on they go for a fiver or less! FIX!
  18. Don't think so - all my UK tapes are in the loft, literally hundreds of them, in fact was going to send some of them to Reg so might get chance to have a look
  19. Did you never hear Don't Take The Lovers From The World on UA? Even got a few plays here and there.

Am going to upload The Sonics version but also another track by them, Don't Be Afraid Of The Dark which I posted up about 3 years ago and is BRILLIANT, I rerecorded it into mono and stuck it on an acetate and played it out, it sounded fantastic. There was no one in at the time mind.

I read the sleeve notes and forget about the cd's!
  22. Pete S replied to a post in a topic in All About the SOUL
Was it the one they used a year or two back featuring the Sonics version maybe?
  23. Hermans Hermits had a hit with this track!
