If someone said to you
No I was going to bid on something until I saw he charged an extra $3 just to pack a record. Then I saw who it was and he's a cnut anyway...
-
If someone said to you
I'm not about the postage, we all have to pay that - but he wants 3.00 to actually pack the record and post it as well as the postage

One Super-Rare Item For Sale
So the worlds most foremost soul collector has never seen it until recently but you're tripping over them on the mean streets of Chicago. Bully for you. Anyway I just sold it so I couldn't give a toss. Come to England and see 10,000 copies of the one you've never seen.

One Super-Rare Item For Sale
This is Butch Baker - Batman At The Go Go / Robin At The Go Go on St. Lawrence 1010. So what I hear you say? Well until recently, this was not even thought to exist. There are demo copies around, but due to an injunction by the makers of the Batman series, the record was withdrawn before stock copies could be manufactured. Or so they thought. Ask John Manship how rare this is...he told me he only saw a copy for the first time last year when one was found in Germany. Condition is pretty nice. Apart from some minor noise right on the run in, although it's been well played I would still grade it as EX, EX- at the very worst. It has some residue where a sticker was removed and some rubbing of the label wither side. The rest of the label will come off if soaked for long enough. The B side - which is called Robin At The Go Go and not Working At The Go Go like the subsequent issue, still has a sticker which once again can be removed if done properly. All in all a really nice piece which you won't see advertised again for a long time. I'm asking £250 for this one. (p.s. the dark patch to the right of the sticker residue near the centre is where the label was still damp after I cleaned the record, it's now faded back to normal pink) pete.smith@freeuk.com petesmithrecords@hotmail.com 01902 893569

Temptones - Ringleaders
The Masters - I Need Your Love - Crimson - cracking little dancer which Times Square used to have in quantity, I must have bought half a dozen off them, probably disappeared now and £100

Which Lou Roberts
Ten to One, definitely...it's got the lot, it grabs you with that instant catchy chorus...the other two followed on it's coattails. You Fooled me is a pretty basic stomper but Everything You Ever must be one of the worst records ever played at Wigan. Someone shoot Alan Rhodes for this.

Styrene
Well actually I think you're right. I'd have thought 90% more styrene records get damaged by cue burn that vinyl...plus they're easier to break and a heavy tone arm will ruin them for good. Styrene really is the curse of the record collector.

Just plain deception
Yes, for about 2 years. Can't believe he gets away with it, why should it be up to the buyer to confirm if the item is genuine? And what if it's not - does he refuse to take the item back using that "you will have to decide" as a get out clause?

Stemmons Express
At last! That's the one I've got that I can't find. Been doing my head in trying to remember what it was.
-
Just plain deception
Yes, lucky that new guy with zero feedback came up with a £52 bid otherwise it would have gone for £21

Love Power has the same backing track as The Sandpebbles version doesn't it? Or was it The Precisions. Or both.

Stemmons Express
A friend writes... Kama Records was based in Houston, Texas and was owned by Sam & Nancy Coplin They are divorced, no contact ....She stll lives there as he did last time we spoke .. he was having a heart op & i've not heard from him since Their office overlooked the Stemmons Express Way .. one of the major roads .. and the group took their name from there There were a few releaes on the label but Sam described them as rock things .. so I guess we'd call them garage ... he had nothing left He says that he wrote he tune .. he had never ever heard of the Precisions, Drew Records & had no knowledge of the track being used on another recording ... it amused him The track was covered up as The Precisions - Look there she goes I can't recall exactly but I think they were a white group .. might need to check that
