  1. Who cares about soul? I'm talking about NORTHERN soul. Oh, and tell the Soul Brothers that they aren't soul musicians while you're at at
  2. I know what your saying about it being repetitive and that, but at the end of the day, it's the instrumental to Sister lee and that makes it genius in my book that sound...phenomenal
  3. Oh well...so do you not like Sister Lee either then?? This sounds a lot like "hanky Panky" I think.

I have to say I was very surprised to see John say that. This is the worst time I've ever known for selling records, and it's not like I haven't had any decent ones lately. It's post winter recession and perhaps it will pick up again after Prestatyn maybe.

  6. Don't be soft, it's f*cking phenomenal, listen to the drummer, he's a genius...Andy Rix thinks it could well be Benny Benjamin. Sorry Andy, but anyone who doesn't like uptempo detroit instrumentals needs their ears syringing, and that applies to everyone who is thinking of adding the comment "instrumentals aren't soul" blah blah blah
  7. Best 'attempted' sound effect. If you listen to betty Llloyd - I'm catching on - she sings the lines "You've been breaking our dates, andneglecting to call", and when she says the word "call" there's a pathetic attempt at a telephone ringing in the background. There is, honestly!
  8. Sounds like the original but with no strings..
  9. aka Sister lee instrumental
  10. Nice to see someone actually having a go back at the rip off merchants https://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...4849114833&rd=1 Could have done with a link to the scammer though eh?
  11. It might be pop because he says 'hey you over there, would you like a drink of...pop' no hang on, he says would you like a drink of beer, you're right!
  12. I can tell you for a fact that this guy was reported to Ebay - not by me I might add, I don't report anyone unless they've turned me over - but he was reported and they have obviously decided that he does in fact have the copyright on these records
  13. £10 - £15
  14. That sound at the start of Psychedelic Soul is cool.
  15. The Carstairs vomiting during It Really Hurts Me Girl. Oh hang on, that's their singing...
  16. It really was fitted in a capri, you can just imagine the guy now can't you, like a scene from Life On Mars...
  17. Kinnell, is everybody dead?? Records not expensive enough? Oh, just rubbish, I see now
  18. Very very scarce opportunity to find a working Discotron Here is something you very rarely see; a working DISCOTRON portable record player! This one was made by Discotron Ltd of Birmingham in around 1969/70 and is still fully functioning. Okay, it's going to need a bit of work on the general packaging but this would be a nice restoration job for someone. This is one of the very rare deluxe models which also had a built in radio. The record player works perfectly and the stylus is intact. When I got the machine, it did not work, but that was simply a small adjustment that needed to be made and I successfully fixed it. The radio does work, but only up to a point. If you take the machine apart, you'll see that the face of the radio, where the station information is, is starting to warp so the tuner can only go so far before it sticks. Again, this could easily be mended by someone who knows what they are doing. The power source is 2 x 9 volt batteries which can be purchased from hardware stores for around £2 each. It is housed in a wooden case which has it's share of wear and tear due to the machine originally being fitted into a Ford Cpari (honestly!). Also, the original handle has been removed. If you would like any more information or extra photos, please let me know. I have only seen one other Discotron for sale on Ebay, and I've been on here for 6 years.
  19. In English might help...
  20. That Impression issue is smart mate, never seen one of those before...
  21. I don't really want to or have to sell them at all mate but they are sitting there doing nothing and I could be spending the money on 45's so I thought I'd start clearing them out. If you want anything I will happily take them off ebay. Haven't heard the melodisc repress but the sound on this is excellent. City Riot must have been cut at the same session as jet 707, the arrangement is near identical..
  22. I think it's the exact same track...it's definitely the same song...I think it's on the B side of The Teardrops "here comes loneliness"
  23. Did anyone see them???
  24. Sounds daft but I just don't get time, honestly...it's baby this and baby that at the moment..
  25. Barry if you can send me an mp3 of it I'll tell you if it's the same track or not...
