Pop Masquerading As Soul
Conned? For £1.50 you had a place where you could hear fantastic music ALL NIGHT, meet loads of new people, take loads of drugs and have the greatest time of your life. Well I did anyway. Priceless I reckon, if at the age of 45 I can look back 30 years and still remember it like it was yesterday. And all the time I was there, I can't remember ever complaining about the music, apart from dave Evisons oldies spot which was always terrible.

Deadbeats
I've had one on my list this year. Think it was 600 quid.
-
Bert Keyes-do Do Do Ect
Don't know if I've heard this record but seeing as you were going on about it I just got one off ebay. Probably be for sale next week

Worst Condition Record Ever?
Nothing makes sense anymore
-
Worst Condition Record Ever?
Mate if I wanted a Lester Tipton with no label I'd get a Grapevine one and tear it off. I honestly believe that anyone who buys a record like that is either very mad or has money to burn. Seriously, I'd pay maybe £50 tops for that.
-
Worst Condition Record Ever?
Course it is. I wouldn't buy the above record for a quid. Spot on Matt.
-
Worst Condition Record Ever?
No offence but I'd be embarassed to offer this for sale if it were mine apparently it's The Opals..quick, it ends in 2 hours

Songs I've Never Heard
Maybe but it did drop dramatically after several copies turned up a few years back...I'd have thought 350-400. Might be wrong. They came from Las Vegas.
-
Songs I've Never Heard
It's Gary Dean mate not vice versa
-
Pop Masquerading As Soul
This is another 12" version of a classic...not literally...but it's too long
-
Toby Bullard - Flodavieur
It's definitely a reissue, many copies worn to make them look old.
-
Pop Masquerading As Soul
This version is just over 4 minutes but it's the longest version I know of
-
Pop Masquerading As Soul
Hold on I'll get it for you...back in a sec
-
Pop Masquerading As Soul
Yeah I know it was, I saw the smiley, just testing
-
Don't Pity Me With Different Vocal
Yeah there are but while I was doing that one, something happened and now my drives aren't reading the dvd's! The Barbara McNair - Youre Gonna...is a stunning live vocal over the original backing track. Actually I've got a track listing, bear in mind that 70% of the dvd's (there's 3 of them) are 60's pop, I just took the soul and a few 'discotheque' hits off.. Jr Walker - Shotgun / Supremes - I Hear A Symphony / Mitch Ryder - Jenny Take A Ride / Len Barry - 123 / Dobie Gray - The In Crowd / Kim Weston - Take Me In Your Arms (Rock Me) / The Toys - A Lovers Concerto / Sue Thompson - Paper Tiger / Leslie Gore - My Town My Guy And Me / Barbara Mcnair - You're Gonna Love My Baby / Outsiders - Time Won't Let Me / Sam The Sham & The Pharoahs - Woolly Bully / Joanie Sommers - Don't Pity Me / Supremes - Back In My Arms Again / Joe & Eddie - Walkin' Down The Line / Four Tops - Ask The Lonely / Frankie Valli - You're Gonna Hurt Yourself / Impressions - Womans Got Soul / Marvin Gaye - How Sweet It Is / Marvin Gaye - Ain't That Peculiar / Miracles - Going To A Go Go / Marvelettes - Don't Mess With Bill / Martha & The Vandellas - Nowhere To Run / Supremes - Nothing But Heartaches / Four Tops - Something About You / Little Anthony & The Imperials - Hurt So Bad
-
Pop Masquerading As Soul
But that isn't pop masquerading as soul, is it??? We know it's pop/northern soul.
-
Don't Pity Me With Different Vocal
Just replaced that version with a really good quality one.
-
Don't Pity Me With Different Vocal
From Hullaballoo - off the official retail dvd no less. Think I converted that to too low a quality though, sorry.
-
Don't Pity Me With Different Vocal
You're joking, it should have been a full version, there's a lot of differences...try this, I'll upload again
-
Pop Masquerading As Soul
Definitely should be in the soul snob thread but absolutely stunned to see you nominate this record. Mick Smith will take you off his Xmas card list, it's his all time favourite
-
Don't Pity Me With Different Vocal
testing how to rip audio from dvd - did this version of Joanie Sommers, singing live over the backing track, I'll do Barbara McNair in a minute with the sensational live version of YGLMB. Didn't know which section to put this in. see two posts down for smaller version to download

A Good Buy For Someone Here
I've only ever seen one copy of this record ever - Mick Smith robbed me of it If I had the spare cash I'd buy it but meanwhile I reckon this is a very good investment https://cgi.ebay.com/NORTHERN-SOUL-JOCK-MIT...1QQcmdZViewItem
