  1. OK I am trying it again
  2. Levine or Curtis - Mecca - I think
  3. Not working I see...something is loading up but no sound coming out!
  4. CAN SOME ONE CONFIRM IF THIS FILE WORKS AS I AM STILL GETTING NO SOUND OFF IT, BUT I DO GET SOUND ON THE ONE FURTHER DOWN THE THREAD Meanwhile, this should be a sound file of the 'new' version, see what you think (keep trying to add it and nothing happens so apologies if it suddenly turns up 3 times!)
  5. Well done mate. I didn't manage two wedding anniversaries with my last one...cowbag
  6. I was surprised to hear he had a missus
  7. Bit difficult as I don't know what it's worth in any condition, if only someone would bring out a soul price guide last time I had it it was a blue label and I sold it for £40, that was about 4 years ago..
  8. You're welcome to but it now mate, save me listing it - it's only VG mind, some light noise right at the start but having said that, my VG's are pretty good and also I haven't cleaned it yet. Wouldn't want book price obviously
  9. Although there is a 2 page thread elsewhere about substituting the word 'arse' for 'heart'
  10. Just got this on the yellow Dontee label - came off Ebay, guy listed the wrong side anyway I thought this was on a blue label, anyone know if it's worth more or less on the yellow label?
  11. Download limit? You tight git
  12. Wait til you hear the 12" remix
  13. Sorry, I have the sense of humour of a child sometimes
  14. Best I've heard in years I reckon
  15. actually I was told that this was The Reflections
  16. I'll send it up in a minute mate, see what you think, yes the other version is great but with these different backing vocals I think it just edges it. I've got the rocksteady version on UK Doctor Bird and the pressing isn't too bad really.
  17. Wow, this is absolutely brilliant, some of you may know this from a Trojan compilation called Work Your Soul, it was originally an unreleased track on a US Heartbeat cd which I put them onto years ago, anyway I have a found a vinyl version and it's a totally different take; different lead vocals, extra female backing vocals and even the label looks ultra-cool. Will send a sound clip up later. n.b. this is a soul track, not reggae
  18. Thank you John, there were loads and loads of unknowns on those tapes I used to do, Steve Jeffries took over the mantle really nowadays, having said that I listened to a few the other day and they were shockingly bad: Mally Page, Christine Holmes, Robbie Royal, Deano for goodness sake
  19. Looks like I made a bit of a cock up when I listed that one for £25 last year..no wonder JM rang up asking to buy it
  20. Hello. I discovered this record in 1992. It came out of Vinyl Solution in Brighton. I reviewed it in Beatin Rhythm around issue 7 and got it into the Record Collector Price Guide. It was also me who found out she was Jackie Lee. This is fact, honestly. 13 years ago this was.
  21. This is impossible really because many tracks are not discovered by dj's, they are known to collectors first how tip the dj's off - for instance, The Champion is always associated with John Vincent but it wasn't him who discovered it...
  22. Not even looked but I bet it's BILL Kenwright, the theatre guy. He had a couple of singles in the mid 60's.
  23. Pete S replied to a post in a topic in Record Sales
    Local 1st issue maybe?
  24. Agreed, and I charge exactly the same. I won 3 oldies last week, from a seller in the UK, and he sent 3 separate invoices each charging £2.50 postage, obviously I said he was having a laugh and he said it was to pay someone for doing the post - heard that one before and I gave it the same reply as before. I got the postage down to £1.50 for the three, but there are many people I bet who wouldn't have argued and just paid up!
  25. Heres a bit of info mate: "Moon Williams, the 27 year old East Ender, must surely be one of the most exciting soul singers to emerge in the country for many years. With dedicated guidance from his producer Kaplan Kaye, Moon Williams is now set to release his latest, and very commendable single. "I'm going to make an honest woman out of you" is a sophisticated soul sound, written by the very talented producer/singer Biddu, and one which will now bring Moon Williams the recognition he so richly deserves" I remember this guy being on tv in the 70's on variety programs, the musical guest in the middle of sketch shows etc.
