  4. No, DW is the person who owns the license to release the record in the UK officially

It's like drugs though - these people are sellers but they aren't the manufacturers

Marvin Gaye - What's Goin' On - US Tamla standard single £400 https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Northen-Soul-Motown-MARVIN-GAYE-WHAT-S-GOING-ON-NEAR-MINT-/301265766419?pt=UK_Records&hash=item4624d6c813
  9. Think I'd want 300 for Rose Batiste and 200 for Hank Jacobs
  10. No it's not actually John. Not that that would have made any difference...I'd have still asked
  11. Blue label, silver lettering VG++ plays EX, light label wear. I don't think this one even books. Was one for £300 on here a couple of years ago. Any offers please.
  12. It does Andy thanks, I did see those but thought if they haven't actually sold then maybe not worth that much. So £50 then :-)
  13. Never heard of either SAMSON & DELILAH with THE BOSS FOUR - DON'T LISTEN TO YOUR FRIENDS - PITTSBURGH INTERNATIONAL RECORDS and RENA - I LOVE YOUR BEAT - FACTORY BEAT RECORDS (1980) First one is a fairly decent 70's soul cat, second one is a terrible disco / boogie thing cheers Pete
  14. I've got one ready to go and I was going to try £50 though what I can see happening is nobody buying it and I sell it a month later for £40
  15. Pete S replied to Quinvy's post in a topic in All About the SOUL
I have a Three Degrees now and was going to try £15 on it. I had the Carl Douglas, which is rare, but no demand for it. Think I got £30 for that. You'll find out that some websites have records at triple their real values. Best way is to do a search on here and then you'll get an average real world price.
  16. This DJ seems to have a carver of every record ever made.
  17. The problem with the Nina Simone is that it's obviously a stereo cut but it's only playing one channel so most of the vocal is missing, but yeah, it went down okay didn't it (notice he said it was a big sound down South)
  18. Mark, I don't know if you know any different but that was the only time I ever heard that played at Wigan. I didn't know who it was as he didn't say the name of the artist. I didn't hear it again until an allnighter near Walsall in 1989, and then I was told it was Rita & The Tiaras!
  19. Thanks mate and thanks Chris above also
  20. I was thinking the same, knew it wasn't Lance, Milsap, Bernard. I think we'll say it is for definite. Cheers.
  21. II’ve dug another Casino tape out, this one has never been uploaded anywhere before because I had so much work to do on it. The problem was that the mic picked up a lot of talking, and I am presuming much of it was gear related, so at some point 35 years ago I recorded over those parts with music (in case my parents heard). I had to listen to the lot and then cut the music parts out to try and get some semblance of a decent recording. Actually some of the talking is quite funny, I can hear myself, Karen Chilton, Geoff Brittan, Steve Kelly, Tom Brosnan, and other people are mentioned so us Wombournites were out in force that night. What I like about this tape is that we were almost first in, so the atmosphere, quiet at first, just builds and builds until the place is rocking. The tape speeds up towards the end when the batteries are going, but listen to the reaction when “Send Him Back” starts, right at the end, it sounds like mass hysteria breaking out! DJ throughout is Russ Winstanley. 22. Something to do with three girls at a holiday camp I think, probably a murder somewhere along the line, about a month back there was a topic about it on here (may have been raised by me) about a piece of music used in it, a modern day NS recreation, I'll try and find it
  23. Don't forget there's been two NS features on that show, might have been the other one?
