  1. "Milk Man" what you actually said was below. I am cut to the quick, I really am. the milk man edit So glad that I don't know you and I get to reply to your pathetic outburst. Whilst you've been sat in front of your computer with your badges I've been out at a club listening to some fantastic tunes mocking the fact that people like you exist. I wasn't disrespecting anyone at all, I was just stating that people who are new to this scene should have the choice of the history of it rather than having it forced down their throat. You may love reliving your youth, but the people who I was referring to are living for the preset and loving it for what it actually is. Which ultimately means people couldn't give two thoughts to what badge you were or weren't wearing. As for being a flash git, don't have a clue what you're on about, I don't wear vest and baggies if that's what you mean. Enjoy getting off on your nostalgia mate
  2. No, there's no US 45 of it
  3. How do you work that out, you mean the London one? Otherwise, I'd be happy with a £3 Million Seller reissue it's such a great record
  4. That's a weird one then, wonder why would they put a white label on? Mick's was definitely yellow both sides though.
  5. Yes it is. I was never aware of a bootleg of this until John Manship said there was one. I distinctly remember buying it from Pep's shop for £3 as an original, he had quantity, as did all the dealers, supplied from one find of old stock. It killed the record dead after only a few weeks. I can't remember 100% but I think the ones being sold were the ones with no address. At that time, originals were always being found in quantity, John Bowie on Merben was another £3 sound available in huge quantities, Nate Evans on DPR, Ringleaders Baby What Has happened - I often used to get people selling me collections in the 2000's with one of these in which they had down as pressings because they were sold so cheaply.
  6. I love both of them. And with the Darrell banks you get the best double sider ever. That Buddy Smith is awful though. And yes, I know I'm the only one on here who doesn't like it.
  7. Came out on London demo but was not released as Stateside had the UK license, so came out on Stateside red and white demo, and black issue - London issue never came out - was reissued in 69 or 70 on Stateside and came on a green and white demo, black issue. I think it was still being manufactured in the 70's as an issue, so at least three Stateside presses.
  8. There's another version of this without that dip in the middle
  9. 12mm and 11mm respectively
  10. Oh right sorry, you mean photos of the deadwax in both versions...sorry, not got original any more...and some say not all of those are originals either
  11. Must stress Stateside issue not London issue - if it was London issue, it would be the rarest UK soul release.
  12. Took these on the phone, sorry not great quality, NEITHER of these sides play Heaven Is In Your Arms, they both play the B side despite the matrixes being A and B
  13. The nearest I've been to Sweden is my Dad once went there on work and bought me back a Sweden football shirt - 1971
  14. I'd love you to play any one of those sets in the main room at Stoke, or Blackpool, or Goodyears Wolverhampton even. The world "going for a quick smoke outside" record would be broken' leaving three people on the floor telling us that this is the way forward. Nothing personal H it's just no matter what others might tell you, the scene in the UK is 90% oldies.
  15. The ones at the top of the tree have always had to buy records they didn't necessarily like though, just so they actually had it. Maybe it's more regional now but I'm thinking mid 70's for instance, there'd be say 20 real proper name jocks and if one had a new top sound, the others would have to get it by hook or by crook. Did anyone really ever like "The Whole Thing"? They all had it..

The guy who posted it is named myersART so I guess he did it anyway
  17. I'm positive in my own mind that any Okeh 45 with a small 45 on the label was not originally released in the 60's, there's no way they are going to break the sequence and change the label for the odd release, they were just put out as demo copies and not full releases. I reckon anyway.
  18. Darrell Banks is twice as rare as Timi Yuro but now sells for half it's price. This is because to half the people who are buying Timi Yuro, they think it's a newie. I first got it in 88 and I was late to the ball with that. So it's been played for nearly 30 years. Darrell Banks, played as a new release, so maybe everyone who wants it has already got it.
  19. It might be interesting to you but the playlists you posted up are at total odds with most venues in the UK, you've got your tunes, we've got ours by the looks of it, and yours and your friends playlist tunes would go down like a lead balloon over here, so you enjoy yourselves and let us get on with it without calling people dinosaurs just because they don't like soul pack rejects.
  20. I do. It was a totally different world back then. Can you imagine being threatened to be beaten up for wearing a soul patch to a venue you'd never been to? I was. You could not just walk in and think you were the dogs nads, you had to do your time. If that's not the case now, and it obviously isn't, then that's great for you, but don't disrespect people like Chalky coming on here trying to explain what it was like back then, it won't do you any favours. Young flash gits with money will never get any respect from me.
  21. Because he gives the public what they want. OK let me give you an example from elsewhere. I've seen Bowie live about 15 times right. I've not seen him since 1987 because that was bad enough. Now, if he announced a new album, and a tour, I think I would go and see him. However, if he played all new stuff and didn't dip into his back catalogue, I'd want my money back.
  22. Daft thing to say. If I say "that's an oldies set", why is it b*llocks? Didn't say it was bad.
  23. Double edged sword though - it's alright saying you should do your own thing, but what if your audience don't like your thing and they like the thing they've always liked! Hence the repetitive playlists.

    He's the top dealer.
