Inexpensive Records For Big Djs?
Oh I thought you said we should all still be doing it I'm just thinking, the thought of adults in their 50's taking gear* is as bad and sad as adults in their 50's dressing up in clothes of the same style they wore in 1977. * not aimed at anyone in particular, just in general

Ebay Madness Again
Nowhere near £100! Thats more like a Manship auction price.

Inexpensive Records For Big Djs?
It's slightly easier to do all that when you're 17 than when you're in your 50's for most of us - and half of our contemporaries have already passed away so who in their right mind is going to push it like that while approaching pension age?

Inexpensive Records For Big Djs?
He did a really good version of What Does It Take To Win Your Love, I've got it on a 1972 LP so it may be LP only but it's as good as any of the other covers.

Brit Girls Strike Back! (New Podcast)
Here's a cracking selection of classic UK produced Girl 45's of the 60's, some you'll know, some hopefully you won't. It's not an out and out Northern Soul compilation as there are some Wall Of Soundalikes and Beat Ballads included amongst the stompers. Not done one of these for a long time so hopefully this will fill the gap until the next one. Ebay Madness Again
Yes Gotta Be Free is extremely rare - but the common one with Soul Meeting on the other side shouldn't really cost more than £50
-
Ebay Madness Again
Less than half that..

Inexpensive Records For Big Djs?
I didn't realise it was about 'new' records, I thought it was just any cheapies that were half decent, so I apologise for posting JJ Barnes!

J Mcfarland Issue - Rarity
Well if you ain't selling them why bother telling us?
-
Otis Redding You Left The Water Running Stone Records
There's an interesting topic about this record elsewhere.
-
J Mcfarland Issue - Rarity
Like I said, £250 then..
-
J Mcfarland Issue - Rarity
It's worth £250 then...

Uk Demos - Change Of Colour
All the EMI group's labels changed late 66 early 67. Tamla Motown, Stateside, Verve, Liberty, United Artists, HMV, MGM all changed to green and white. Verve and MGM only had a few green and whites before both changing to pink and silver. At the same time, Pye changed from white demo to yellow demo. I honestly have no idea why this happened.

Emidisc One Off ?
If theres not hundreds, you can always send me a list and I'll tell you whats real or not and how much you ought to ask for them..
-
Emidisc One Off ?
Might be a one off but it's not gonna be worth anything I'm afraid - Suspicion is available on at least 3 bootleg 45's and The Flirtations record is only worth a tenner anyway...

Need Your Knowledge
Yes they were both booted, the Paula Parfitt is as Simon says, easy to spot as it has no serrated edge and 99% of all of them have a USA type centre and no stamped numbers on the run off. On the Cheryl Williams, the original is off white/beige and the bootleg is black and white
-
Need Your Knowledge
Has the Paula Parfitt got a centre?
-
Poll: Northern Soul - An Illustrated History - Your Take?
I'm afraid I didn't enjoy it very much, it's too dark in it's outlook and I only got two thirds of the way through and haven't gone back to it, sorry.

Should We Make Tagging A Must In This The Box Forum ?
Can't see it making much difference, there's a search facility

"switch Around" Acetate
What an absolutely ill founded assumption. Ask me my top 100 and at least 40% come from the post Wigan days. The record in question sounded like two people were singing different songs!
-
Inexpensive Records For Big Djs?
Can you imagine having the thrill of hearing this for the first time ever? I especially love that kind of choral part right in the middle before it shifts up a gear and gets even more intense. What a record.
-
"switch Around" Acetate
No wonder it was unreleased...
-
Inexpensive Records For Big Djs?
Here is the world's best £10 record. I can't believe anyone could not like this. It is very special.

Dave Mitchell & The Screamers On P.s. 'the Trip'
That Soul Yogi is actually a great record though, gets a bit boring half way through but up til then, superb.

Inexpensive Records For Big Djs?
I know you like this one...
