  1. Move them round my house mate I'll soon shift 'em for you :-)
  2. Yeah I sold it to Mick Smith - well I traded it - £1200 worth of swaps I think it was. And he still complained, as always Makes me laugh because in every price guide it has a very low price (£450 in the latest one) but very few people have actually ever seen a copy in the flesh.
  3. What's a 'loft sale' Don? Records you keep in your loft? I'm not taking the p*ss.
  4. I'm sorted Andy thanks but NCFC above might be interested
  5. There is a great thread about rare issues on here already if someone can find it, also there are some rare ones here on my website https://www.rare-soul.com/wordpress/?page_id=12
  6. Best instrumental ever would be Dean Courtney's I'll Always Need You, with full orchestra playing, amazing
  7. No, definitely black, with a 'penant' type logo with childrens building bricks inside
  8. As I just told you I've got acetates 30/40 years old and they play perfectly...so have hundreds of other people...you'll just have to learn to look after your records better Nev...
  9. Why do people keep saying this? I've got some that are over 30 years old and they play as good as when they were made. As long as you don't cue them back and forward, and play on a lightweight arm, they'll last years and years
  10. Someone who knows what he is talking about just wrote to me about this... VERY INTERESTING ABOUT YOUR COMMENTS ON THE INSPIRATIONS ACETATE----I DID A LOT OF BUSINESS WITH JOEY JEFFERSON AND BOUGHT A LOT OF RECORDS FROM HIM(WE SOLD TONS OF RECORDS ON HIS LABELS)---HIS ACTUAL RECORD STORE WAS REALLY BAD STOCK WISE MAINLY USED MAJOR LABEL ALBUMS AND LOOKED MORE LIKE A THRIFT STORE THAN A RECORD STORE-I WAS THERE A FEW TIMES AND HE WAS EASY TO DEAL WITH --I DON'T KNOW IF HE EVER HAD A FILE OF ALL HIS RECORDS-I DOUBT IT-BUT EVEN IF THEY ARE LEGIT --YOU REALL Y NEED A LABEL ON IT TO MAKE IT INTERESTING.--YOU CAN POST THIS ON SOUL -SOURCE IF YOU WANT--REGARDS JOHN ANDERSON
  11. It is a poor recording though compared to the Gold Token one, but it also has a brilliant B side (think it's called Please Don't Go?) A lot of people don't realise there are two cuts of Deceived as well.
  12. Having said that - practically all copies I"ve seen have been black labels
  13. Unusual that then, they usually make stacks of demos and nobody buys the issues. The one I've got is an issue.
  14. Steve, issue ten times rare than demo surely?
  15. Would have thought it's on both demo and issue. Reminds me, I have one to sell for someone, damaged sleeve but nice vinyl.
  16. I've got a one sided metal acetate of Moses Dillard - I'll Pay The Price which I had done 15 years or so ago, I'll I put it in an old sleeve and write some comments on it and put it on Ebay and see what happens. What I'm saying is, if I was thinking of spending money on an acetate - and I know you are an acetate collector - I'd want a label on it or I'd want it to be an alternate cut.
  17. How hard is it to write on a sleeve though?
  18. So sorry to hear this. Condolences to all family friends and relations. RIP mate.
  19. Not enough of an alternative mix for anyone I would have thought - you'd think it would be longer, not shorter, how can an original acetate be shorter than the released version when the two versions are identical?
  20. If it had a label on it it would have been useful. n.b. I'm not for a second suggesting it's not legit. I'm saying I would never bid on a blank one sided acetate unless it had an alternate version of the track in question.
  21. There's only one of those on Ebay though?
  22. I could make an identical one like that and have it up on Ebay in a month, I can't believe anyone bid on it and the other one, suckers.
  23. I didn't like it much but if this had come out 10 years ago you'd all be going "wow, Northern dancing, fantastic to see that in a video"
  24. Probably just a regional variation, loads of Philips are on both colour labels
  25. True, not a great financial investment but a great snapshot of the time 1972 to 1974, practically all of the top sounds of the era there on those 50 or so releases.
