  1. I think the Metros issue is rarer than this, but that's supposed to have sold a few as well..
  2. Must have been a hit then?
  3. Have to disagree with you there Dave, think the ratio is 10 to 1 demos against issues, well of those that have passed through my hands - stands to reason that there are thousands of RCA white demos about against a handful of stock copies. Tiberius, thanks for the info also.
  4. Having trouble pricing this one, The Cavaliers - Hold To My Baby - RCA black issue. I know how rare these issues are, but this one is only VG (plays better) with ringwear on the label. I would say £200 in mint so what, £75 in this condition?
  5. Thanks everyone, that's really helpful.
  6. That means nothing though...
  7. When you click on the scan of the record, it opens up massive
  8. I think the one I"ve got has a slightly deeper shade of green than yours Chris, but I agree, strange find!
  9. This and The Sophisticates used to be £5 jobs, I know Sophisticates has gone up dramatically, any ideas on this Two fellows - Stop don't give up your loving on Mutt? Was thinking £30 maybe?
  10. My mate bought this as an original actually in Detroit but I'm pretty sure it's a boot, I've checked the bootleg guide but this has a few things in the run off I'm not sure about. It does not have an Archer stamp, if it does I can't see it. It has the tiny numbers 95 scratched in, AI B scratched in, and a weird mark like an m with something on top of it? There may be more but my eyes are pretty bad and I can't make anything else out clearly. Got to be a boot though, right?
  11. Ian asked me if I would post this up for him, I know these usually cause a lot of debate but this time I haven't heard it myself as I only just received the email so I am just the messenger ok! https://soundcloud.com/ian-levine/solid-soul-sensations-6 After a three month gap, this is now my sixth three hour podcast, done for August 2012. My own special personal private radio show, aimed at people with discerning and impeccable taste in quality soul music, and a platform for me to bring you what I consider to be the cream of the crop of my own personal music tastes. This is quality music to listen to, on a hot late Summers day, and share your emotions with optimistic joyous feelgood music, something to lift up your spirits high, and remind you that everything always turns out alright in the end. And there is always a sunny day after a dark storm. This is music with passion and feel and soul This is REAL music. It's quality before value. And yet there are some very valuable records here too. I have always been controversial, but this time I particularly hope to impress and deliver. Right now is an amazing time for Northern Soul - the footage from Elaine Constantine's film looks simply amazing, and the BBC just aired a detective program full of Northern Soul records, and so the timing couldn't be better for new people with open minds. Anyway each and every one of these records is played off original 45 vinyl. This is music to make the hairs on the back of your neck tingle, to lift your depression, to remind you that life is worth living to the fullest. This is the best music the world has ever created. THIS IS THE MUSIC I LOVE. And nothing will ever change that.
  12. I used to have her UK Mercury EP, the sleeve was stunning, never seen another copy since
  13. Russell - I am informed that this is the B side of Lou Courtney's version of I Watched You Slowly Slip Away.
  14. You suspect correctly Dave, no Fontana demos between 62 and 68, only stickers/stamps on the label.
  15. This is why I was "surprised" to see it listed at £175. Friend of mine always tells me how he laughs when he thinks of a review I wrote of this record in my fanzine back in 1990 "So and so says that this should be a three figure record - yes it should - £9.99"

Brian, that Ronnie & Robyn is a sort of 2nd reissue because Sidras Theme came out on it's own first with Blow Out The Candle on the B side in 1975, then Ronnie & Robyn / Sidras Theme came out in 1977. I sell it for £8 - £10. Others will charge you £20 - £25 for it no doubt. Mal C on here will tell you what the Jackie Wilson is worth.
  18. I have a feeling that early copies or promos may have had a picture sleeve as well!
  19. Maybe if it's from the LP, I think the LP is a slower cut, but with the UK 45 having been recorded in the US, it seems weird that they'd use a different version just for the UK market.
  20. No, UK, don't think there is a US 45
  21. Hang on a minute, it's not a reactivation at all, people who know it have had it since it was first discovered and have been playing it ever since, just because some higher profile DJ comes along and starts playing it, it doesn't wipe out everything that's happened with it in the previous 25 years or undermine the people who have had it and played it.
  22. is it a US acetate? Sounds blue eyed. Dunno who it is though, sorry. Nice track.
  23. I had this in 1989-90, does this make me a top DJ ahead of my time?
  24. Have to say that we had cheese on toast and jam on toast made like this in the 60's, I don't mean on a breville but just a sandwich, toasted - surely not a 70's innovation.

Hey Russ, you wanted someone to name you a better record than this costing under £500, I could name you a thousand better records than this under £500. Make that five thousand. Except I haven't got time. Is this better than Al Kent - The way you've been acting lately, for instance? Is it better than "Please let me in"?
