Anderson Brothers - I Can See Him Loving You
Topic elsewhere about Outtasight, someone even posted up their company accounts. It's come from the ashes of Joeboy records with input from Les McCutcheon I believe

Tobi Legend - Time Will Pass You By - Mala
John's book is almost 5 years old

Funky Soul
Chalky don't know if you agree with this but sometimes it's not always live dj spots that can start a record off. Now as you know I do podcasts, and now and again when doing a Northern one I'll slip a truly rare or unknown Jamaican soul record in there, with no fanfare or anything, then 6, 12 months later I see it on playlists and I'm thinking well did they discover that themselves or did they hear it on that podcast? Either way is good and I'm not trying to say I'm responsible for any records being taken up by people but just that there are other ways of picking up on stuff than hearing them out.

Garnet Mimms - Quiet Place - United Artists
Sorry Mark I haven't got a copy but just wanted to say I love this record. And the Prince Buster version.

Funky Soul
I'd enjoy a night like that but I wouldn't go there thinking I was going to a Northern Soul night Greg. Whereas if I went to a Northern Soul night and it was dominated by these funky tunes, I wouldn't enjoy it.
-
Funky Soul
Go Go Children isn't a funky soul night though is it? And secondly, no it's not Northern Soul Source but 99% of the events discussed on here are Northern Soul events. Whoopee doo for all you connoisseurs who appreciate the much broader spectrum of soul music. Just accept that you have not been charged with a mission to convert everyone else! (Not you personally Greg) There is nothing worse than people lecturing other people, Russ.

Funky Soul
The fact that there's only five people discussing this particular brand of "Northern Soul" shows how interested people are in it. Just a handful of people trying to push their personal tastes onto people and meeting with total disinterest from the other 1500 members. Cue the predictable responses of 'dinosaurs' and 'not prepared to listen to anything different', maybe there's a reason for that, it's not anywhere near as good as traditional Northern Soul, and why try to fix something that's not broken?

The Del-rays - Destination Unknown
Well the one at the bottom is the light green original if thats any help (I'm not talking about ebay anyway, I mean if you actually come across one in a sales box etc
-
The Del-rays - Destination Unknown
Chalky's right, to identify an original you only have to know the difference between light green and dark green, you don't need to see both together. If it's dark green it's a boot, if it's light green it's an original.

Talking About Jackie Edwards 45's
No it didn't, but it did come out by Joyce Bond on Island using the same backing track (this is why I credited the French EP male/female duet vocal to Jackie & Joyce many years ago despite there being no proof - but it stuck) Jeezus look at the warp on that LP

Milton Wright I Belong To You
£50 is about right

Funky Soul
Exactly - different strokes - Tony Galla is an out and and Northern stormer, that's the music I got into (albeit many years before that was played) and that's what it should sound like. Uptempo Northern Soul. Sounds F*ck all like a popcorn record though

Northern Soul Book
How about this one https://www.soul-source.co.uk/articles/articles/soul-news/going-back-memories-of-a-soul-boy-new-book-r2403

Funky Soul
I go the opposite way - if this stuff was played at Northern Soul venues I'd never go again. It's an alright record but to me, it's not Northern. Play it elsewhere, fine. (Having listened to all of it, it's just so boring I couldn't face listening to it again)

Northern Soul Book
It was that chap from Hertfordshire I think, Little...sorry can't remember, it'll come to me. He was featured on his local news, is that the one?

Website Reopened - 100 Titles Added - 500 Next Week
I've reopened my website and added about 100 items on there, all have scans with thumbnails which can be expanded, sorry no sound yet cos I've forgotten how to do it but I'll have sound clips on there next week. By the end of next week I'll have uploaded about 300 Northern and 200 Modern 45's so it might be worth checking back. There's also stuff on there that I've never listed on my sales lists yet. Thanks for looking. Pete https://www.rare-soul.com/wordpress/record-shop-2/usa-northern-soul-rnb-originals/

Weekenders....is There A Demand For A Rare Soul Weekender?
I'm going to guess that the best attended weekender is the Blackpool Tower one. That tells you all you need to know about what music policy will get the most punters. Popular, classic Northern Soul. Rare Soul Only Weekender - you might get 500 people attend maybe.

Anderson Brothers - I Can See Him Loving You
Wasn't an exclusively soul label, they had all sorts on there. Don't think Anderson Bros were country anyway.
-
Funky Soul
This is the same as all of the rest of them, they're all okay, nothing wrong with them but you wouldn't make a special journey out to hear them. I like this but I'll have forgotten it in 10 minutes. This is just my opinion Russ.
-
Funky Soul
Yeah but if I'd heard that many in one hour / night it would be overkill
-
Talking About Jackie Edwards 45's
Both at the same time - or the VIP's by a couple of weeks (6005 - 6012)
-
Funky Soul
Russ - I guess all this is down to how people perceive it - this one I would have just classed as straight Northern Soul.
