  1. My mate Crispie once bought a pressing of Stubborn Heart thinking it was actually the then newly discovered "Lover" by The Delites, I said why on earth did you think that could be The Delites and he said he thought they were singing "stubborn ooh ooh heart ooh"
  2. Yeah but he's done a British book, albeit a price guide.
  3. Be lovely if it could be done in the style of It's The Beat wouldn't it....lifelong dream...never gonna happen though, am useless at graphics, as you probably noticed from past posts, I still haven't learned how to cut out a circle in photoshop
  4. I'm definitely missing a few of them Rob, I'll try and find them out see what's missing - thank you!
  5. Loads of people did that back when The Lovelites first started to get played. I much prefer the slow one myself.
  6. Don't know if anyone's thinking of buying one of these for their kids (or for themselves) but I bought this for Sam 6 months ago and it's only been used four or five times, he's just not interested, so it's just gathering dust. Current retail is around £230 for the X Box 4gb, the Kinect and one game. I've got the box, the kinect and 19 games including Pro Evolution Soccer, Virtua Tennis, four kinect specific games, Halo 3, Lego Indiana Jones and so on and so on. The games must be worth a couple of hundred pounds. I kept most of the original packaging so it'd make a nice gift. * also has a second handset controller which cost £30 on it's own £175 quid. Probably best to collect off me, but can post Any interest, pete.smith@freeuk.com List of games below PRO EVOLUTION SOCCER 2010 CRACKDOWN VIRTUA TENNIS 2009 KANE & LYNCH DOG DAYS DEAD RISING PROJECT GOTHAM RACING 4 NHL 2K7 ICE HOCKEY TEST DRIVE UNLIMITED LOONEY TUNES ACME ARSENAL KINECT JOY RIDE KINECT SONIC FREE RIDERS PURE FOOTBALL STUNTMAN IGNITION KINECT SPORTS KINECT ADVENTURES SKATE 3 SUPER STREET FIGHTER IV LEGO INDIANA JONES KUNG FU PANDA most of those have never even been played
  7. Thanks Bob, I know, it really is stunning and when's anyone ever going to find something like that again? Doubt I'll ever see another one.
  8. No BLake, lad from round here, Tom. Big Simon & Garfunkel fan nowadays, dunno why
  9. My fault for copying second hand information without substantiating it mate, sorry about that!
  10. I recently bought a cover version of Deon Jackson's "Love makes the world go round" on UK by none other than Beryl Reid! Hey guess what, totally different song, and if you've heard Beryl Reid sing.... mate of mine bought a copy of You Don't KNow Where Your Interest lies in the record bar at Wigan, looked at it on the coach home and thought it looked a bit weird, what with it having the artist name scratched out. You can guess the rest...

Yes that's it. Came out in 77. They even got the title wrong.

You should be ok with the Bill DOggett but there are two reissues of The Ellingtons, one is plain blue and terrible sound quality, the other looks like the Castle original but doesn't have a matrix stamp

    I agree, that's a great track, hidden away on a B side
  15. Have to agree here, well out of order posting a PM, Jules opening statement made me see red but let's play fair here!

not really, just putting the 20-30 valuation to bed.

    Tenner.
  18. Postman is a terrible job, always has been, I tried way back in 1986 and I couldn't hack it, the pressure was enormous and now that they've cut down on the staff it must be ten times worse. As usual, it's the poor old postman who gets it in the neck and not the bosses, and their bosses. Our post regularly arrives at 3pm. Never used to be as bad as this but some of them are having to do two sometimes three walks. So I really sympathise with any postmen.
  19. I like it too - remember listening to this on ipod while walking the dog the one day, it came on out of the blue and whoooosh!! What an instrumental this would have made as well.
  20. Yes but thats a white DJ copy James, and thats ambitious at £85 these days. I could sell you the black one you've got listed for £5. A very out of favour record unfortunately and one you'll struggle to sell whatever the format.
  21. That's exactly the sort of example I'm talking about.
  22. Well I'll give you an example, I bought a record off Ebay for myself the other week, The Volumes - Just can't help myself, it was the black demo which is pretty rare - cost me about 70 quid. If I was going to resell it, which I inevitably will in a few months, I'd want 100 for it I think. But if it gets stopped and I get charged 25/30 on it, the profits gone straight away. A lot of people buy for a tenner to sell at twenty cos at the end of the day, it all adds up. I've sold two dozen ten and twenty quiders this week I think, and am well pleased with that.
  23. You have to take what you can get Chalky.
  24. Yeah I know - it's not real - there are no proper black promo copies - trust me! It's a bootleg.
  25. Talk about over moderating. Did anyone look at this example, what do you think? This is what I don't get. Say 2 copies of a record go on ebay. One sells for $5 because no one spots it. The other is seen by everyone and goes for $500. They both get sent to the Uk, one gets through as it's only worth $5, the other gets done for £100 tax. However, it's the same identical record. How does that work then?
