  1. I think they made four or five acetates - I've definitely sold one of them - it's the sort of thing best to make a carver of as there is no real original
  2. Not really...boring...

  5. I did but I'm not actually talking about that record if anyone would bother to read what I said I was talking about 5th Dimension train keep on moving
  6. Anyway you should come up and haggle with those other things you mentioned LOL
  7. I have a mint Hold Down but I'd want £200 for it, Ram You Hard, took me until last month to get a copy! So I'd probably want a ton for that. Hold Down is way more common than The Bleechers though.
  8. Think I have seven of those above mate but things like Hold Down and Ram You Hard, they are expensive (I have both)
  9. THE SCHOOL BOYS - GUILTY OF LOVE / PREMO & JOSEPH - PEACE ON EARTH - PAMA PM 753. £250 + registered post. Fantastic copy in Excellent condition. No VG without centres and titles scratched off for the price of a mint one here...you will never need an upgrade copy. KARL BRYAN - CANNONBALL SPECIAL (credited as RONNY WILLIAMS - THROW ME CORN) / THE HIPPY BOYS - TEMPTATION (actually THE ISRAEL BROTHERS) - GAS 120. Cannonball Special sounds like a version of Another Scorcher / V Rocket. Both sides play MINT, vinyl is EX. £60 + post
  10. Not that I know of Harry. Never known it so unstable, for instance, I bid on 12 records over the weekend, I won 3, I lost 9, but the three I won were the ones I expected to lose and vice versa. Also you have to take into account how much someone wants something, I bid on a record week before last and I bid £100 over what I actually think it's worth just to make sure I got it - and I lost!
  11. Thats just ridiculous though. The LP market has just crashed last couple of years - I've still got copies of Scotty School Days, reggae Hits 69, Here Comes The Duke, Herbsman reggae etc, and I mean pristine ones, can't sell them at half the price I used to be able to get.
  12. Yeah it's a 2000's recording, sorry can't access my itunes but it's something like Bad Bad Way. I'll send it you when it's all working if you want it. Larry Hammond - Sad sad Way.
  13. But - I put a load of boots, all from the 73 to 78 period, on facebook yesterday, practically all £5 each to get shut of them, and I sold - ONE RECORD!
  14. The actual record or just the label?
  15. I don't think it's about music Dave, I think it's about collecting itself, for instance, I have about 100 records on the Studio One label, I can put a collection like that together for £500 or £600 by buying represses - but if I was to buy originals only, it would cost me over £25,000. But I'd like to have them all on British, so I buy a British and sell an import. Doesn't make sense though, if it was about music I'd be happy to have it on any label. It's collector mentality.
  16. THE EMBRACERS - STOP AND LET YOURSELF GO - LUCKY LABEL INC 1000 anyone know anything about this record at all - it's on JM's site at £350. It's very doo-wop influenced, just wondered if it was known or played and what I should ask for it.
  17. The majority of the labels are offcentre on both the green and the orange, but I still don't know where this story that the green one was withdrawn came from, both copies I've had were mint, had a bump on the edge, and played mint.
  18. No I just came to the conclusion that at approaching the age of 60, the money would do us all a lot more good than a few grands worth of Reggae and Soul records, so I sold them, paid for a new kitchen, toilet, conservatory, car, holiday, yeah maybe I regretted it but I've now got more Reggae 45's than I ever had so I guess I had the best of both worlds.
  19. Counterfeit demo is the wrong colour though Dave
  20. Can't spend it when you're dead Dave!
  21. It's not off centre - only Mick Smith's copy is!
  22. Baudrillard, I have amended all earlier posts and I apologise unreservedly.
  23. As it says, I wrote it before reading the thread, I had no idea who the seller was and said I was obviously wrong, can't say it much clearer than that! *have also amended earlier posts to say as such
  24. Yeah but there was only 9 people still going by then.....
  25. Never said he was but from an outside point of view, thats what it looked like - just saying - am sure he is 100%
