Or just describe whats in the run off of the Art Freeman and Jay D Martin - leaves nothing to guesswork

Cheers. They look exactly the same.
  3. NOW SOLD, THANKS I've had this numerous times on issue and demo but I've never had or seen a mint one before this, absolutely stunning stock copy in mint condition. The other side is great as well. DEENA JOHNSON - (I'M AT) THE BREAKING POINT / MAMAS BOY - WILD DEUCE ISSUE £80 includes postage

Your Art Freeman looks like a bootleg to me, sorry - styrene, stuck on label? And if the Jay D Martin is on vinyl, thats a pressing too. Photos aren't that clear.
  5. Doh sorry, I was talking about Soundville too!
  6. Youd better get that checked out mate, it's worth a lot more than £30 if it's stamped
  7. Confusing - I've got a definite boot of this and it has no stamps in the run off, just a scratched in number
  8. Shouldn't these all be under one heading?
  9. That was played briefly after another of his tracks, You Have No Choice, was played in 1979/80. I think it also came out on GNP Crescendo though, and it's a pleasant midtempo dancer.
  10. Can you just explain this again please Greg, there is no button saying cache anywhere when I search for his user name

I had the subway one and it burned my mouth off, way too hot for me
  12. Sorry me too - never even thought of this as R&B, ever - pure Northern, always has been
  13. Sorry Gareth, I'm not arguing with you on purpose but both Rufus Wood and the Delreys were massive records in 1975 going into 76 and an awful lot of people did appreciate them, the reason you may think they were long forgotten and then revived and re-evaluated is because of the bootleg factor, once a record was booted, that really was the end of it - even records like Lenny Curtis took 20 years to get revived.
  14. I don't! I just said stop moaning, that's not slagging you off, if I want to do that I'll do it to your face, not hide behind a keyboard!
  15. I'd take that after hearing that gospel shit you were playing
  16. The majority of people on here just click "new posts" at the top of the page and you can see any new ones since you were last here, so the fact that it's in Look At Your Box has nothing to do with anything - there are more posts in that section than there are in All About The Soul usually anyway.
  17. Why don't you move over there then
  18. Not quite sure why you bring this record up as an example, it's has a Ramsey Lewis style backing and a thumping beat and is a typical mid 60's Northern sound.
  19. I just cannot understand what is so difficult to understand about this statement. Northern Soul is not funk. We don't want to listen to 'all aspects of soul' because most have f*ck all to do with the music we want to hear. Christ almighty. "The Northern Soul scene was totally different to anything else which is why a lot of us got into it in the first place - different from mainstream soul, funk, disco - it was NORTHERN SOUL - and thats how it should have remained in my opinion. You don't go to a Northern Soul do and expect to hear funk".
  20. I never said it was anything special, but when you've been playing a hundred or so crap 70's records and you find a couple of uptempo/danceable ones, it's a eureka moment!
  21. Incredibly that came out 3 times on UK labels, on Success, Doctor Bird and Punch, each one had a different flip side.
  22. The Jamaican blank should indeed have a Val Bennet cut on the B side - High Tide which if I remember rightly is a great instrumental. This is a Bunny Lee production but I don't know if he produced Pussy Price. The matrix should be DYNA-BL 815 but I've also seen it listed as R-3009). But it gets a bit confusing because another version, produced by Roy Shirley, was released in Jamaica in 1969 (dyna RS 840). This has Give Me Back Me Dallar on the B side.
  23. Absolutely true. Seats were quite high up and the pool was massive. Must have gone there 20 or 30 times, never went near a drop of water though
