Your Favourite Modern Soul Choons ?
I think a choon is related to tunage in some way, if it were acapella they'd be going round saying "songage" or "lyrix", and still thinking it made them sound cool.

So Angry Is This The End Of An Allnighter Career?
Yes I think that has a lot to do with it.

So Angry Is This The End Of An Allnighter Career?
Yes, primarily. Plus a few midtempos for the old people.

I'll Be Around
I like Joan Osborne but this is a bit karaoke, as they might say on the X Factor

Are you in Bananarama?

So Angry Is This The End Of An Allnighter Career?
That post totally defeats the idea of having an events lookbacks section if all you are allowed to do is say how great something is. If he feels it was below standard he should be allowed to say whatever he wants. Otherwise just close the forum down.

Jay & The Americans - Got Hung Up Along The Way
But I've got some footage of the original singer (on that doo-wop show, taped about 5 years ago, I posted a few clips up) and he is introduced as Jay Black, he does Cara Mia and sommat else and he is the definitely the guy singing on the original records.
-
Jay & The Americans - Got Hung Up Along The Way
Well the guy who sings Livin Above Your Head and Cara Mia is Jay Black I think. I don't think that he is the guy singing Got Hung Up. So do we think the singer on Got Hung Up sounds like the singer of Up And Over and the answer must be - YES
-
Jay & The Americans - Got Hung Up Along The Way
I think it was Jay. (p.s. I bought a US issue for $26 last night)

I Know Who Court Davis Is
I've been contacted by "Court Davis" and had some friendly email exchanges with him (no, he doesn't have any copies of the record*), seems to have a very interesting story so if any of the usual fanzine/magazine writers or radio people want his details I'll be happy to pass them on. * he has the original acetate which is minus the string section though

Rare Uk Funk 45 - Elephant Band On Mojo
Not my specialist subject I'm afraid (funk I mean) but this is priced at £85 in the Uk price guide so if anyone wants it for £60 they are welcome: THE ELEPHANT BAND - STONE PENGUIN / GROOVIN' AT THE APOLLO - MOJO 2092-036. Mint minus.

Temptations V The Four Tops Live
Wasn't Live Aid Drew, it was a Whistle Test special that was about 12 hours long, called something very original like Rock Around The Clock, I've still got most of it on tape, the highlights (apart from the Motown 25) was the Damned 10th anniversary concert which was fantastic, and the film London 0 Hull 4 featuring the Housemartins.

Bunch Of 70's & 80's Records
Hang on I think we may be at cross purposes here, the record I'm on about is Living a little laughing a little b/w I've got to make it on my own, but it's from pre-12" days, 1975 - did I reply about the wrong record?
-
Bunch Of 70's & 80's Records
No it's "I've got to make it on my own"...
-

-

Really, no idea, thats why I was asking. Someone already asked for the Jackie Moore record. Tenner for Dionne?
-

Apparently one of The Spinners tracks was up for £100 recently! I'll take half that
