  2. I have a copy of the Vanguards - The thought of losing your love - lamp The record is vg and plays with some background noise, so £10 to anyone who wants it.
  3. Sorry Joan, but it wasn't mentioned on that thread. And believe me, I wish I hadn't voiced my opinion on this one. No wonder lots of people say to me that they daren't post on this Forum. God, all I said was I don't get the record, I wasn't insulting anyone. Phil.
  4. Why is it ok for everyone else to voice their oppinion on here and not me? I said I wasn't trying to upset anyone, I just don't get the record and I'm entitled to my opinion. No one gives a s**t about people slagging William Powell's singing, just because he isn't on the forum. I suppose you would all be saying what a wonderfull record it is if he were. Maybe he is, and you've all upset him. And the fact is, I'm in to Northern Soul, and to me Man of My Word isn't. Phil.
  5. Errrr.....very interesting reading and all that......and don't want to cause offence to anyone, BUT, am I the only one who thinks this record is pants? Phil.

  8. Yeah but John's auction usually go for more Michael .... thats the only reason i thought it'd go for more , certainly not on quality (not in my opinion anyway hahah) Too R&B for most northern fans i.m.h.o. it's the big oldies that normally make the big money on J.M's auction. Also not a proven rarity yet, still early days. Phil.

I would also lay the blame for the current situation squarley on the shoulders of certain promoters, who are so afraid of upsetting anyone that they turn a blind eye to what goes on behind the decks. And some wouldn't know a boot from a silk slipper anyway..... Phil.
  10. As far as I'm aware. This was first played by Cliff Camfield at the Burnley Allnighter......not sure on date......I then got a copy and played it a couple of times, then sold mine to Honky in New York. Also about that time Cliff got a couple of spare copies, one of which went to Karl H. Not sure how long Dave Abbott had been playing it, but was very supprised when he played it in his spot at Burnley. I called it Sandra Stevens, think maybe Barrie Waddington made up the name though. Phil.

Didnt realise there were so many dodgy discs for sale I cant understand why people buy em! If you look at all the soul nights that are on every weekend Paul......a lot are played out by wannabe DJ's......I was recently told by a mate, [he'd just paid out a substantial amount of money for a very rare record] he'd gone to a local soul night, when suddenly, said rare record came belting out of the speakers. He said he couldn't believe his ears, and just had to go up to the decks to take a peek.......a carver with totally the wrong label was on the decks.....when my mate spoke to the "DJ" he apologized and said he had got them from Ireland. "Them" says my mate. Yes, one for myself and one each for my two mates...... And that's not the best part.......the venue in question, advertises as O.V.O. you've got to laugh or you'd cry..... Phil.
  12. Selling one for a mate, but still waiting for him to bring it round so that I can grade it. Should be here by next Monday. He says it's a minter. Phil.
  13. how do u manage to get barred from JM website??? Errrrr, let's just say, a clash of personalities. I can look at the web site, I just can't log on and access any info, or bid on anything.
  14. I have been informed that this is a minter? can't look myself as have been barred. If so, what do you think it will go for? Will the present economic climate mean it won't achieve top book? Myself, I can see it going back to where it came from. [u.S.A.] Phil.

I get your point Quinvy and I agree to a degree but is that really a bad thing? Only my opinion Barry. People play these cd's all the time i.e. home & car, and get sick of hearing the same tracks. Then when they go out, they get to hear them again. Phil.
  16. Quinvy replied to a post in a topic in All About the SOUL
Import cd's [with perfect quality sound] of mega rarities, make it very easy to make these boots. People making cd's for all and sundry of rare records has meant that you don't have to leave the house to hear them.
  17. SEEN MORE FOR SALE IN THE LAST SIX MONTHS, THAN I HAVE IN THE LAST SIX YEARS. EVEN IN THAT CONDITION ITS OVER A 1,000 BUCKS, AND AS SOMEBODY SAID EARLIER WILL GO FOR A BIT MORE. BRI PINCH. That's just the internet Bri. There was two minty copies weren't there? and one battered one, that's it ain't it? And I can't get the begger to play can you? Phil.
  18. It's hardly turned up though has it. and that copy is worthless to me in that condition....still a very rare and superb Detroit 45.
  19. Hello Bri, yes it got a few plays at Burnley a couple of years back, always got a good reaction from the dancers. Don't know about before that, Stafford???? Phil.
  20. Appologies mate, that's my fault, my mistake sorry......I've been out all weekend....
  21. Never mind that one, what about this one, which has mysteriously ended early? https://cgi.ebay.co.u...e=STRK:MEWAX:IT
