Butch has a Masqueraders....ain't cheap though.... Phil.
  5. I didn't know the record until last year....when I heard it [soul club] I couldn't understand why nobody was playing it....I'm always looking for new or forgotten tunes to play out, so I set about trying to find one.....the first person I ask is always Butch....he didn't have a spare, but told me what a rare piece it was.....next person I asked was our Joan, who I knew had a copy because of a post on these pages....offered her a few quid, but she didn't want to sell it. [understandable] Anyhow, to cut a long story short, I got a copy from a top collector, played it a few times at Burnley, but didn't do anything for the dancers, and to be honest, it started to irritate me, and it's a tricky beat to dance to....Then at the first Lifeline at Wolvo, Butch gave it an airing, and the rest is history.....Like I've said before on here, Butch listens, when people ask him for records, he digs them out, and suddenly everyone wants them again....same when I asked him about Celebrities and Appreciations on Aware....he's been spinning Fab Apollos- Determination since he first came to Burnley....I know they are oldies, but many people don't know them....and they are quality. I offered my copy to John Manship to auction, but he didn't think it would make much. So Ted has it now....think you'll struggle to get an original Spot, at least until the U.S. dealers realise there's a demand, and then you may see a few appear. Original is styrene by the way....

Karl Heard played it at the last Burnley...it does sound good played on a big system...when I heard the organ riff, I thought it was House of the rising sun...

If I might take the liberty of airing my own veiw on this topic? I think that the people that are worried about the musical content of this movie, are just frustrated that a real chance to make a wonderful testament to a thing that has thrilled us all, will be sadly missed here...if you look at films like Quad and even Dirty Dancing....with the right music, used all the way through, and not just for the odd scene.....they could have been amazing....I'm sure we have all dreamed of making a movie about this scene of hours [well I have anyway ] what tunes you would use, and the way you could show the world what they have been missing out on....especially the young people , whom have never been exposed to "proper music. I feel really sorry for them...On the two films I mentioned here, the music used for the majority, had no bearing on the time or place that was being filmed, and I just didn't get a feeling of the subject...totally spoiled it for me.....I know what you are going to say...these movies were very successful, and that's all that matters to the film makers.....REALLY!.....I thought it was an art form luvvie....anyway, it's such a shame that we will all be fast forwarding the DVD to the one or maybe two short bits where they [hopefully] get it right. After all, how can you imagine that you are back in 74 with Duffy and Mr. Weller's 2008 recordings playing in the background? .......YUK! Phil.
  17. Hello Pete, Adam Lever? think that's his name, had a copy of Richard Caiton for sale a while ago. Can't remember just how much he wanted for it, but it made me gasp when it hit my ears. Nice guy, think he's a mate of Stevie Cato's, so you could ask him. Hope you get sorted...beautiful record indeed.... Phil.
  18. Yes but I think Lee Fields is a very average record, so there you go. Different tastes.
  19. So are you saying that "back in the day" you liked everything that was played??? Because I certainly didn't. We all have differing tastes, and thank goodness for that. You don't like the record, fair enough.... Phil.
