		the Vows on VIP

Thanks for all of that. So indeed, the Vows was not 'A' group but rather a "formation" of which people walked in and out. The Vows served one purpose, to lay-out songs model for "in-wall" elaborations. That rather than showing their crafts to the general public.

		Tempos - Countdown

Very first white promo styrene, then yellow stock styrene, then burgundy styrene and vinyl with bold credits on dark yellow glossy label. Rest are re-issues or bootlegs...

Indeed the lined pressing doesn't suffer those common issues as on the other one. Correction

		the Vows on VIP

The man I was expecting here. Thanks Robb. I do love 'tell me' though. But what puzzles me is the brainwork put on it from an executive at Motown to name what is most likely two different group recorded 4 years appart when music growth pace was faster than ever before... As to why I began that quest; a storytelling would have been interesting as it would then have brought some light as to why, what and who were in those studio sessions.

Does anyone know the "hidden" story about this odd from the odd Motown release ? The initial 'A' side 'buttered pop-corn' (Supremes also release that) sounds rather like an old à la Contours recording. It first got release as a single sided promotional copy in 1965 !? Why that and then ? Then the "commercial" edition got filled-in with 'tell me'. A loose tape ? With Morris Chestnut on lead vocal that at least sounds like it could be recorded in 1965 ! Almost all stocker copies seems to have sold poorly since most copies we encounter have drilled holes and those without often have a stamp to show the "pushing" side the 'tell me' as they were used for promotion purpose. Fantastic tune 'tell me' IMHO but the Vows, a band ? Really ?!

Roddie Joy - He's So Easy To Love - Red Bird Demo

Dave, if you refer to the Popsike one with "SYDNEY" writing on, it's the same pressing as the vinyl one here above. Most of those vinyl copies have big WOL like name and or sticker on...

Roddie Joy - He's So Easy To Love - Red Bird Demo

Odd indeed. The label is clearly a copy of the styrene one. Blurry it makes me think of these old Ric-Tic bootlegs made in the 7T's. I can't quite make up if it's an old bootleg made for the beach scene or something else really. I've dug out my styrene now to see the if the matrix match or not. My run-out groove is smaller/narrower and the handwriting is different...

I use to kinda collect them Shangri-Las when I was a teen and remember having seen a few Red Bird records back then that were OVO vinyl. And just go on and check the site 45cat.com to have a few already... I rest this case.

Roddie Joy - He's So Easy To Love - Red Bird Demo

In the USA most of Red Bird biggest sellers had issues in different pressing plants and some on vinyl as well, so not only that 'come back baby' by Roddie Joy.

Anderson Brothers - I Can See Him Loving You

Now that I've managed to re-solder the external cable of my tonearm, install the new PCB and fit the 220VAC motor (was 16VAC) on my turntable, I can finally play some records all over again. So I manage to play my records and for the first time the bits'N'bobs I got in lately. And the Anderson Brothers for the very first time. And as a MONO freak that I am, I first played the MONO side... It's maybe MONO but it's actually altogether another mix !!! I still favor the known STEREO side, but this is a real treat and surprise to me. A long loved record that still reveals hidden sides after all this time. Epic !

		The Younghearts On Canterbury

But it's not the same mix. It's "cleaned" but then looses the "buzz" sound of the original mix which does half the record what it is. A bit like Phil Spector without his wall of sound...

		The Younghearts On Canterbury

To make things right in the chronology, it was first credited 'little togetherness'. Both promo and stock issues used the same matrix/mix/take. It was then quickly re-pressed to meet the public demand and re-titled 'A little togetherness' and likely first miss-credited to the Tempos on the Monarch press (even if it's the same group) then corrected back to the Younghearts. So the Tempos is not a first press ! What is odd is that the Tempos issue still uses the date '66 on the label. Just as did 'Canterbury' 505 that is reputedly pressed on Feb. 4 1967 !!! And even the scratched in matrix of the Tempos issue reads 67-C-506A-RE !!! So the Tempos press is likely a rush release that got it all wrong in haste at the pressing plant... this is why it's rarer. One should own or gather these six releases to note down the matrix, digitally record them, compare the volume and frequencies graphics and timing to determine the different mix/takes used for each presses. People at 'Canterbury' records did use those two other pressing plants (vinyls) when needed to provide faster national distribution when they had a national hit. Canterbury 506 was the first one doing so for the label.

Same back 2 back, classic "sandwich" folded sheet in Belgium, Holland and France for those peculiar "early" Atco series. My copy is pristine though if ever you'd need a good quality scan...

Had a bunch of promo Jotis copies years ago and ended only keeping my French Atco which plays as good as it looks if I remember right.

Andre Brasseur - The Kid- Original

Mhhh... can't say, I have sold my Belgian Palette copy ages ago so I can't compare the matrix with the label, but you could be right. One would have to check.
