  1. Dear Soul friends, after some time considering our future we have taken the decision to retire from running The Grosvenor Rooms Sutton Soul night. This has been a long and emotional decision to make but we feel now is the right time to step out. Grosvenor Rooms Sutton Soul was a dream of two friends, Mark and Rob and without fear they launched a new soul night on Saturday 18th October 2008. Two soulies who wanted to bring their version of a Northern Soul venue to the scene. They poured everything into it, their time, hearts, and energy and made a successful Northern Soul night for everyone. Mark and I met on the soul scene and The Grosvenor has been a massive part of our lives and love together. 17 years on, 204 nights minus covid, add in the annual charity all dayers, we hope we have created something special. A venue filled with laughter, warmth, and more epic soul records than we could ever count. Itโ€™s also been a place for people to meet, where strangers became friends, friendships were revisited, where friends were lost and remembered and many stories were shared. We have refused to compromise on quality and tried to maintain the levels to keep The Grosvenor at the top of its game. It has always been more than just another venue, its always been about the music ๐ŸŽถ For every bit of support, youโ€™ve given us, we are endlessly grateful. Though this chapter is ending, itโ€™s not goodbye entirely. Weโ€™ll continue to be in and around the soul scene, splitting our time between here and Spain and also taking in the new world of a grandchild. Our last night in charge will be Saturday 20th December. The next few months will be emotional, but we will continue to provide the great night you have come to expect. The new face taking over from us will be Andy Clarke, who you may know also runs Newstead soul night. He has been in and around the scene for many years and lots of you already know him. He will bring a fresh face to the door and we leave him to make his mark on The Grosvenor night. The December night will be our leaving party so we hope you can come and say goodbye, hear a tune, make a spin, raise a glass and help us say farewell the way it should be done: with love, laughter, and the famous Grosvenor Rooms soul family spirit. We want to thank the staff at The Grosvenor for their tireless support and efforts behind the bar. Special thanks to all the DJs who have blessed our stage, and most of all, you guys and gals, our soul family. From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you for being part of our journey. We will carry your friendship and memories with us always. With love and gratitude ๐Ÿฅฐ Mark & Paula ๐ŸŽถ๐ŸŽถ
