  1. Some years back I used to have a table on Hitchin market. A chap I'd known for many years would come & see me most weeks as I would find him bits & pieces that he collected, he liked vintage advertising items, local postcards, etc. On my table I had a couple of boxes of records and one week he said he had some records in his loft. Every now & then I'd ask him to bring them along, he'd then reply with "Find me something I want & I might do". Anyway, one week I'd found about 8 or 10 old local postcards & I had them at the back of the table. He spotted them & he really wanted them. I agreed to keep them for him until the next week to give him time to go in the loft. Next week he was there early in the morning. We went over to the car park to his car, he insisted I take my few postcards with me, and he opens the boot up. I nearly fell over it was full of boxes of CBS demo's ! I asked him how he'd managed to get them ? He said he worked for CBS from the mid 60's, he told me he pretty much ran the whole thing. I only got a few records in swaps for the cards, so I asked could I buy the rest ? No you find me some more trades & I'll put them back in the loft for now he said. That was about 12/15 years ago, I see him a couple of times over the following year but not seen him since. I'd rather not say what I managed to get in swaps that day, but the important thing was we were both happy (-;

  3. Hi Steve Re "when did it first emerge to the light of day and by whom". John Anderson found it & sold one to Richard Searling. Richard plays it covered up as Joe Mathews around 78/79. Stays a c/up until Kev Draper gets a copy. Think Kev plays it uncovered at the Fleet, 80/81 ? Originals have a nice crisp ARP stamp in the dead wax.

  16. OK Hammie it's yours mate
  17. I know some of you are able to take out warps from records, I can't. So here's a : Rodd Keith "Gloria" vinyl is Mint-, faint sticker stain on label. It has an approx. 4mm to 5mm lift. On my portable player it jumps, every time. I don't have my 1210's here to play it on, but I would guess it would jump on those too. It's hard to photo a warp but the second photo shows the record on a flat surface. It's a gamble. But if you mess it up & can't flatten it, it's down to you. £45 plus £2.50 signed for within the UK

  20. Closing this one tomorrow afternoon 4th Aug. Top offer is still £1850. Thanks.
  21. Top cash offer so far is £1850.
  22. Here's a rare one : Eric Mercury And The Soul Searchers "Lonely Girl" b/w Part 2 on SAC. Play grade is near Mint-, I can just hear a couple of faint ticks near the run out. So a lovely copy to play out. I've taken & attached digital photo's with the flash set on high to highlight the general visual condition. It does have marks, it's not mint. No warps, plays on centre. I'm looking for cash offers over £1800, but I would be interested in good quality (oldies) trades. I'm easy to deal with, just drop me a pm. Cheers Ady
