Don't get me wrong, I take my hat off to these ladies, more bottle than I have, but it's just the way it has been put accross that makes it look like some sort of variety act i.e. borrowing their partners records etc and perhaps you are right they are in joint ownership. The respect has to be given to the likes of Jo, Linda ,Karen C, etc who have built up their own collections. Hope the night goes well and you all have a great time. QoFxx

Well said Baz, why should women DJs be set up as some sort of novelty act, if they are good they should get the bookings whatever sex they are Well said girl I personally would rather have my hands cut off than play any record (even if I had them) leave it to those who can like your fine self. Life would be sooooooooo boring if we all like the same music, I must admit some of the very early supremes I don't mind before it became the "Diana Ross" show but Aretha just can't get at all. But lets not get off topic (I know I started it ) yes I agree there is so much underated early motown that should get played out every now and again..........errrrrrrr but not too often. e.g. Sunday night at cleethorpes "AIn't no Mountain High Enough played to a packed dance floor. It's probably what got us all hooked in the first place in the early 70s QoFxx

THink there are a few places in the area, at least 3 I can think of, where it can be heard , but unfortunatley not in my house Perhaps if you played it loud enough I could hear it here in La La Land QoFxx

Can everyone stop bigging this "awful Awful terrible" record up, have been trying for ages to be able to afford to buy it and if everyone keeps going on about how great it is it will push the price up QoFxx

  19. Well that's not a bad thing then all positive IMHO, I say bring back french chalk QoFxx
  20. In the 70s we used to use powdered french chalk, I realise that it would cause the similar dust/cleaning problems etc but is it as dangerous with respect to carcinogenics? QoFxx
  21. I don't dance much these days so in that respect it doesn't bother me, but there is something very nostalgic about the smell of johnsons when you walk into a venue. On the other hand with my safety bod hat on it is asking for law suits IMHO. QoFxx
