Yep that's true and a good point. Does everyone necessarily know that a seller is going to be up for a trade though? I know folk sell records to buy more, but I'm thinking of people like Bearsy as he posted above, don't like selling records, but would post a list for purely trades. That way he's lost nothing? Some of these records are expensive as we know too well. Thought maybe this way would be more out in the open... Sort or redistribution of soul as it were! Yep thats what we already have in place. Maybe stay that way might be the best option. Could be though lists for trades would mean more swapsiz taking place (I know I'd look) and if people end up outing what they consider is a crap record in return for a good one and vice versa for just the cost of postage, that is what may be interesting to pursue further?

Ta for views thus far, sounds encouraging. Thought there would be threads with just lists of records up for swaps. Then maybe members could pm each other with specific items of interest and a link to their own swaps list?

Thinking about a section purely for swaps/trades. Would welcome members views on the worth of this. Thinking about stuff we've bought blind, records we have grown tired of etc. Threads of lists of records up for swapsiz ... I know people list records for sale/trade, but how many trades actually go on? Would a bespoke swaps section be of interest? Maybe records you hadn't thought of selling specifically, but there's usually a few that we're not fussed about that others might well be ... Anyway as said would welcome your views.

Nah all matey would say is "I had it ten years ago" and thats about all he would say according to what James has said. That and "I'll do what I like". This thread is worthwhile when you read things like the original master is owned by RCA. Highlights the chancer from the dj imo.

Bit underhanded to give the carver to the dj before you just to f*** you up. If he does have the master though he could do that, as d'js do borrow/lend. Smacks of wanting to curtail your efforts of breaking this track with the "who's he, I had this ten years ago" attitude. $64m question is master tape ownership proof. Can he prove it and does he care to?
