Just seems everyone thinks this is the later 60's/early 70's stuff . What about the earlier sixties white stuff that wasn't strictly soul, that was played. How's that classified?

Perhaps I should rename this thread to a 'memorable year'. Goes without saying there are good times ahead. But nothing wrong with remembering the good times that have already been imo.

Have to be 1985 for me I think. Was going to places like, Peterborough, Loughborough, Leicester, Keele,Trentham Gardens, Buzzard, 100 Club etc. Remember Girl across the street being massive (that's Moses Smith btw, not Jeanette @ # 36 lol). Magnificent Men, Lovin's gone to my head. Hand clapping. Buying records from Rob Smith that had '1.50 worn' on them. Buying the Northern Soul Story Vol 1 - Soul Supply at a nighter before it had been released. A fantastic and exciting time of discovery and wonderment for me and although I know more now and more sounds have been unearthed. I look back to 85' through rose tinted specs and fond memories ...
