I work for a publishing company and if you want to advertise, you pay. Maybe if the scoots were brief lineage ads, it'd be different, but with pics, they should pay.

Yeah probably agree with that. Not a current biggie for me either - but does have the mass appeal over a long period of time.

Not forgetting Seven Souls - which is 'money' to be fair. Don't know anyone who doesn't like it (including Pete). BTW, take it that's your scooter in the avatar? Was trying to work out what it was 200 forks, SX mudguard LI headlight. Is it a Special or a highbrid?

  9. https://www.6ts.org/trickster.html Not an instrumental, did put me in mind of Little Annie though. Get coat, leave
  10. The one on the website
  11. On the 100 Club website, there's that silly thing where you can 'make Trickster dance'. Although it's an instrumental (if memory serves) it sounds quite a bit like that.
  12. Bizarre indeed Shane North Herts 60s Mafia to give it it's correct title is the name of one of our clubs. So you understand that has nothing to do with you. As for removing a member's posts? With all the respect I can muster, I'm not sure it's your place to suggest that. In short Vic G is a member of Soul Source and to post here bad mouthing a SS member may be less than prudent. Perhaps taking on board members thoughts on this matter would be wise.

  14. It was Vic that wrote the 'Plinston Avoid' thread. Those were his views, but the Big O didn't ban him for them! Views were exchanged as they should be on this Forum. Think you went to the modern thing there didn't you Vic and had a stonking good time? Can't condone rudeness or blatant p*ss taking on anyone by anyone. But them calling you a big mouth on here is just as bad as what they were accusing you of in the first place.
  15. I suppose a short answer would be three letters - KTF. People move on etc and I guess that's understandable to some degree. However and I have mentioned before the girl at the end of the Blackburn nighter documentary (old Whistle Test footage) where she says "it's just a feeling, you can't put it in to words" "It's a feeling and nothing else grips your heart like soul music does". To me that says it all. In answer to your question about thoughts on ex soullies - saddening and disappointing to be true. To me this is still the most exciting and uplifting music and that is a faith I want to keep forever.
  16. It doesn't sound at all modern imo, could have been recorded in 1962. Just a wonderful record.
  17. Nah, I've gone to bed mate None of my views? One about the one of digging sixties soul? Thought you liked my posts Col
  18. On the subject of picky. Could we get Col to edit this from'pyramids' to 'Pyramid'

No Dave, I'm giving you my view that's all mate. You may call them parameters, I call them views, they are mine and that's that. Said all I'm going to say on the subject as I fear we are going round in circles and I'd better head off to the spinning thread Not before I take my intransigence to the dishwasher and unpack it Do respect your (and everybody's) views on this btw. Wow, we got to two pages in turbo time here dudes, made me 7th highest poster of the day KTF and NO LESSONS!!!

You make some good points Col, honest you do. I just feel lessons is a bit wossy. Why reinvent the wheel, when most have learnt the normal way. Back then and today.

No, they usually have thousands and end up being dj's.

This is getting right out of whack now Nobody said they should know who Keb is - point being no one is, or should expect max confidence or ability on night one. Also you say "35-45 yo's, many of whom have no care for the scene beyond the next 12 months". Where on earth did you get that from? lastly " if they are not given encouragement....they will find another scene". When I first got into this, the music had such a powerful effect on me that nothing and nobody was gonna put me off. Now I know that is a personal reflection, but really, if they need all the hand holding and the music on it's own isn't enough ... Then find another scene.

Ah I really don't know about all this lessons lark. As above, people are free to practice at home - will someone tell me why that's not acceptable? If you have the sounds, you listen to them, you dance, you improve. If not maybe the new b's are embarking on the wrong scene. I don't wanna rouse feathers here but let's say for example someone watches a couple of chicken ads, has a couple of lessons and then they're there? Or they go to do's listen to and buy records, have a step about at home and get better ... I know who I'd have more time for.
  25. Simsy replied to a post in a topic in All About the SOUL
Well out of line Col, really? Come on there are those that will never dance. I am not saying they are to be ridiculed or looked down on. If they wanna dance practice at home in front a mirror, you bird, your mum - whatever helps. Not projecting MY views, just common sense was all I thought mate
