The Gospel According Too Dave Godin By Pete Lawson
For anyone interested in Pete's magazines, John Kingan sent me a tape recording Pete made of him interviewing Dave Godin. The first hour and a bit is what appeared in the first issue. The rest I guess was to be the "to be continued" in a further issue. If you want to listen it is on my mixcloud page: The Gospel According To Dave Godin

Silas Phifer of the Mello Souls - RIP
Doesnt mean Jim T sang lead though, maybe just one of the group? Obvious answer would be Edwin Johnson who sang lead on the Candi flip? Or is that too obvious, anyone compared?

Great Yarmouth Weekenders, Soul Radio 20/10/1990
Date on this recording is unknown but it is around 1990/91. Colin Law followed by Banks and Bicknell. Not sure who the first brief DJ is though. https://www.mixcloud.com/Chalkster/great-yarmouth-northern-soul-weekender-radio-early-90s/

King George & The Fabulous Souls
At least 5 I can think of over here, Sam bought the last one I know sold from Andy Dyson who got a spare. Cliff Steele the first I know of or remember playing this.

Larry Clinton
The discovery of Larry Clinton is in Neil Rushton's Soul Stories book. Discovered by John Manship in Orlando Florida on the return from his second buying trip in 1976. Sold to Sam who soon sold it to Richard. John removed the J/G distribution logo from the label because as Jamie Guyden was re-issuing all the Arctic stuff at the time sam wouldn't have bought it if he thought it was a Jamie Guyden reissue.

Larry Clinton
Was Larry before the unissued Eddie Holman? If so Searling was playing Eddie in 1977 according to his 40 at 40 article, discovered by Anderson. Pete Mason's is now with Kev.

Is there just half a dozen or so known copies over here? Last one I know of was £4k, not Brownies btw.

I agree it doesn't make sense, like I said I'm just retelling what Eddie says and if he replies and gives a reason I will pass it on.

If this is taken from a Palmer release then the fault lies in both releases.... It actually sounds more profound on this one than the one I listened to yesterday.
-

But if it is a fault in the mastering, unless Palmer re-mastered then the fault will be in both releases would it not?
-
Larry Clinton
I've e-mailed Eddie to see if he can remember why there was only three. I'm only retelling what Eddie said to Kev when Kev showed him his red issue. It is quite possible they simply did a sample press if preparation? I've no reason to doubt Eddie either he seems to have a pretty good memory from his early days. I would have thought if a full run of issues had been done the odd one or two more would have turned up as it was obviously very sought after and everyone here and in the US knows its rarity and value.

I understood RS had a red issue?

Didn't Palmer use the same master?
