So What Makes A Good Dj
I for one will be staying away, I can stop at home and listen to cd's but I'll be at the Lifeline Rare Weekender which probably won't be full of proper soul fans as there could well be a dash of the odd, slow obscure rubbish played
-
Candi Staton

-
Shirley Wahlls/why Am I Crying

The Four Voices
I know many a brilliant record that I'm sick of hearing Are the Four Voices legit? I've got my doubts. Just because done using original plates stamped etc doesn't mean they are legit. Whoever did them it was done for one reason and thats to cash in on the northern record market. There are plenty around on the market and it shouldn't be anymore than £20, the same price other boots and re-issues are selling for cause it's no rarer, in some cases it's far more common than some boots/re-issues.

The Detroit Sound Label?
Just had a dig and the Detroit Sound Recording Company consisting of Brooks Brothers and Sequins is from 1966 and owned by Taylor and Turner Productions. The other Detroit Sound is owned by Irv Steiner and began life in 1967.
-
The Detroit Sound Label?
The Sequins Detroit Sound is part of the Deto and Music Now label set up. It also seems that Tay is also related. Share the same address (9846 12th Street) both Taylor and Turner productions and Lovenote publishing. Also both written by one of the Brooks family. If they are different labels then there was two Detroit Sound Recording Co's operating around the same time???

Detroit Soul - All Of My Life..?
I'd agree with you Pete (again ), £75 more than enough IMHO.

Little Jeanette On Green Lights Mp3

Little Jeanette On Green Lights Mp3
last one I saw was around the 250 mark. I can put up a soundfile when I get home later today or in the morning. Someone remind me the male version?

Four Underplayed Corkers
Rarely go local Bazza as only really the Union offered anything different. Attic and Pilsley seem to be bucking the trend for the same old same now and hope to get along very soon to both. As for Districts, whole host of DJ's were spinning it including Mick H, Arthur Fenn, heard it down the 100 club when I was going regular as well. Like Joan says DDA and SoN getting spins there.

Otis Lee - Hard Road To Hoe

Top Tips... For 2007
yep it does but my better half got one for about 6 quid off evil bay demos are one sided.
-
The Four Voices
I don't think it was a limited run, 100's done. The 100 club releases have more credence IMHO, at least they are unreleased and I'd play 'em. Got my doubts about Four Voices and personally it doesn't interest me on Gold.

Top Tips... For 2007

First Arrivals Of 2007
I've been quite good, just three or four by Kell Osborne, all cheap as well.

Made A Cock Up, What Shall I Do?
I think if you nread the consumer credit act the onus is on the seller. He did state guaranteed original and as it isn't an original the onus is very much on the seller. Glad you sorted it and nice to see someone honest enough to admit a mistake and give cash back with no fuss.

Four Underplayed Corkers
just found notes, it was Sandbag copy played by Guy. Red Boy slower.

Anyone Know Anything About This Uk Label?
I've seen the solid centre one before but something in back of mind tellin' me it wasn't UK
-
Valuations Please
Jackson Brothers I've seen as low as £120 innrecent times although think that is way too cheap. Probably suffers due to lack of exposure. Mixed Emotions have seen for lot more than £200 in recent times. Sure I saw a Garrett Saunders go for peanuts (well lot cheaper than book price ) on ebay while back????

Otis Lee - Hard Road To Hoe

Otis Lee - Hard Road To Hoe
them 50 must hgave disappeared pretty quick cause hardly saw this in 80's for sale. there was handful not so long ago, few years maybe but they came and went, the price dropped to around £400...actually saw one sold for that price at 100 Club. Not seen so many lately and reckon I'd want 6/700 now.

Four Underplayed Corkers
Great record, far cheaper than the Jimmie and Entertainers version.
