  2. George Pepp was first spun at Warrington Parr Hall I believe. Can'tr remember this being covered...always known it as it is Walter & Admirations was covered as G Davis & R. Tyler...reminds me of places like Blackburn...places where Butch was fast becoming the number one at the time, few years before his residency at the 100 club.

Don't listen to karen, she's baaaaadddd!!!! It looks like you need a cd of some soul as an antidote. Listen to Mace, if he says it's bad...then it must be bad

Have seen for £300. I couldn't give this away at one time
  6. My principles of collecting US records stopped me buying any re-issues (most of em)...sorry UK releases
  7. No, I'd buy the Timi Yuro, sell it to some mug...sorry collector for £1000 on e-bay...buy a shit load of US demos with the money and then I'd download the Timi Yuro CD for nothing
  8. you are actually correct Dave. Scheduled for release, allocated release number but never released.
  9. The Hamilton Movement reminds me of ewvery venue I've been to for the last 3 or 4 years....heard it at most

Thats the bit I like best Steve Sounds like the Animals
  11. Think again Mercury Personally associate this record with Cleethorpes and 100 Club as it was the first places I heard it...long before Lifeline. But it was played at the time anywhere Butch djed so no real association with a club if you know what I mean.....

Soemone just paid £623 on JM auction for it
  17. had radio five on in the cab today....then an advert came on...guitar playing in the background to the ad. Thing is the guitar sounded just like the guitar bit at the beginning of Thee Midnighters - Gonna Make Me Cry , just the guitar over and over...it sounded som m uch like that I started singing the record badly of course
  18. I never questioned the rarity of Gladys, know it's about in quantity. Bit I think it's far better record than Chapter Five...just my opinion Never ever liked the Chapter Five!!

The boots have a shiny label, originals dull black (or is it other way round, sure i'm right with first comment lol). A mate was offered the boots (or some) a few years ago.
  20. not if it's same night as the Wilton you won't
  21. No he wouldn't UK issued records be them issues or demos have just never done it for me...had very few UK rsoul ecords. I much prefer the US artist or group on a US release
  22. Garnett Mimms isn't lost...Kym Fuller has recently met and interviewed the man. The interview can be found in a recent edition of Soul Up North
  23. The dinosaurs comment came about because you questioned whether Gladys was played when it does get played, pretty much everywhere bar the west midlands it seems. I know of several who have asked where they can get the recortd too and know quite a few dealers who have done pretty good business in the record...that good no one needs to go to you it seems Pete As for your set there was nothing wrong with it as far as an oldies set goes, in fact it was a pretty good set, except for Chapter 5 crap uk pop IMO As for what the punters want I wouldn't expect much else from the west midlands, every time I've been in the area it's pretty much all they want...must be the least progressive area in the country but if thats what they want.........
