  1. Not wanting to cram this thread with you tube clips and such, one recent album I keep playing over and over since Christmas is Shirma Rouse "Shout it out loud" and the brilliant L-O-V-E track amongst others. Not on vinyl yet as far as I know but then so what
  2. Good call and that whole Booker T album from last year or two is superb. Hopefully another project like that soon blending legendary artists with new talent.
  3. Yes that can be a problem with new releases when a track gets popular, but great for the artists I guess. So long as they then make some decent obscure recordings for us to dig deeper into, off air so to speak.
  4. Strewth slow down you two...my bloody ipad keeps crashing here and I'm still supposed to be working!
  5. By the way, I've got a touch of OCD and I love music in all formats, but let's not get into an OVO / OCDO / OMP3O / C3PO debate...at least not until the new Star Wars film is out
  6. Brilliant. Thanks Roger...I really like that and not heard it before. That's a great start to the weekend
  7. Great couple of posts thanks and yes we're not alone but just case of trying to find a good night where we can hear and dance to a bit if everything. I'm more than lucky to have a choice of most things locally, including a night or two where brand new releases get played alongside the classics here and there. Or just go to and out and out Northern night if we fancy it. So yes as well as new vinyl releases on the other running thread, I'm looking forward to seeing what gets posted on this thread for new cd and MP3 only things...and I'm a sucker for great music videos too but generally bored with what I see on TV or when I see what my own kids have stumbled across on various devices around the house
  8. Phew thanks for your reply as I was wondering what on earth I'd done for a moment, on a largely rare soul site
  9. I know I'm not alone on here being hungry for more new releases as they appear, not just vinyl only stuff as there's a lot of good things recent and imminent cd / mp3 only... but hard to keep up when also looking back 50 years or so all the time being addicted to vinyl! The "new vinyl releases" thread is still running of course and has been brilliant, but thought I'd give this a go for a general new soul release thread covering CD and MP3 only things with occasional cool official new videos thrown in. With many new tracks are launched and available on MP3 months before then later being available on vinyl (eg the great new Soul Junction 45 by The Dynamic Sounds Orchestra), I'd love to hear more if anyone wants to use this thread to share them. I'll start with official vid and great track from imminent new Saun & Starr album due out from Daptone records this May and also what I think is equally brilliant soul and a great vid by relatively new Houston outfit that Brian Goucher out me onto earlier this year..The Suffers and their superb 4 track ep "Make some room". Cheers and thanks for the ride so far, Steve
  10. Good shout! Got the 45 through the post yesterday and real solid both sides...though wouldn't mind hearing them perform some more mid to low tempo tracks hopefully too in the near future. Actually looks like they're working on an album as a further track and quality deeper soul "mean to me" is on you tube from a recent live performance. What a voice and real tight band. One to watch, like "The Suffers" recent ep which is truly ace too (though sadly not on vinyl...yet!) Check this vid and title track from the ep though and let's get a new digital only release thread going hey?! Cheers, Steve
  11. Sorry Henning, I replied to your pm at the time with my email but didn't hear anything more, so assumed you'd decided to keep yours anyway. I'll double check my emails as I have had some problems with receiving some mail recently. Cheers, Steve
  12. Have this on the LP but wouldn't mind the 45 if anyone selling please? Many thanks, Steve
  13. Thanks Nev..I love both sides equally but that's a good alternative version too yes, good call.
  14. Thanks for interest and all those who've already sent messages, but sorry not until I can find a better condition one myself, if one exists.
  15. The wonderful both sides Sandra Philips - I wish I had known / Hoping you'll come back on Okeh seems to be harder on issue than demo for some reason
  16. Willie Kendrick - Change your ways / what's that on your finger
  17. Thanks for the post anyway as I honestly don't think I'd heard this (I don't get out much!) and even had to pause eating my sarnie just now to listen to it in full on the you tube. Wow...what a voice and great track. Brilliant. Just ordered "the lost solo" album.
  18. Went to go and play this at Lenny's last night then 3rd or 4th rummage realised I'd left it on the deck at home ..sorry again Dave. If only I could be as organised as Len Great track though and interesting write up as always too thanks. Cool new label design too!

Superb two hours of soul as always Steve, although can't believe you said you'd been carrying the new Saun and Starr 45 in and out of the studio the last 5 weeks before you got round to playing it!
