- Four Gents - He Got Soul
Hi there Looking for a copy of the Four gents & He got Soul on Liberty if anyone's selling a copy. Vg ++ at a minimum, not after a battered"fine for Djing" example so no pops, Clicks, etc Thanks Andy- SOUL SOURCE RECORD CLUB 2017-Keeps On Keeping On
Had this a while now, cheap as chips but absolutely love it Don't know much about it but Dee Dee carries it off brilliantly. Only ever heard it played out once & it was me playing it. Lol- SOUL SOURCE RECORD CLUB 2017-Keeps On Keeping On
First ever attempt at posting anything on here but thought I'd give it a go. This arrived on the 31st of Dec, pink promotional copy in Ex condition for under a tenner inc. postage. Nice mid tempo RnB No. I have no idea if it's well known or not but I like it so it is now sitting in my record collection. Happy new year to all btw. Andy- FEW CHEAP UN'S FOR A FRIDAY
Sent u a message, interested in Ojays, Jean Wells & Eugene church Thanks Andy- Soul Tattoos, What Does Your Say?
Was the Guy from Grantham by chance, i remember a lad from round Town who had one just like that, couldn't understand why for the life of me. I've got a couple of Soul related Tattoos on the inside of my forarms, inspired by Junior Walker. Left Arm has "Nothing But Soul" By Junior walker & the Allstars put onto a line of music with stars & notes mixed in as well as the SOUL label name, date which was 1966, the yr i was born incidently & record Number. Theres also a little figure playing the Sax. On the right arm theres a banner running down my arm with the words "How Sweet It Is To Be Loved By You," again with Stars, Notes & a music sign dropped in behind the banner. How sweet is probably my fav Motown record of all time & nothing But Soul Sort of sums it all up really. looking at some stage to get an image of a soul singer doing his thing further up my arm some time this yr hopefully- Live Acts
Only my 2nd ever posting so apologies if i dont get it completely right and a request for info really. I went to the recent soul week ender at Butlins earlier this month with my wife who is not really into the Northern stuff at all but doesn't mind the more commercial Soul classics. Theres normally plenty to do so we're both happy. however we were both a bit disappointed by the live Acts they had on this Yr. Aswad, Junior Giscome and Roachford to name but 3. Jimmy James and Angelo Starr were both very good but its not like i haven't seen them both before at Butlins i know the acts we all know & love are getting on a bit now but does anyone know who is still performing live from either the 60's or 70's on a regular basis and do they still want to come to the UK. Obviously they have to appeal to a slightly wider Audience than a hard core Northern crowd but there must be acts out there who are available. not sure if its lazyness or ignorance on the part of Butlins or both but i have spoke to several people who were there and they all said much the same. Incidently the Crazy horse Northern venue seemed very popular when ever i went in there so top marks to the organisers. all the best Andy - Four Gents - He Got Soul
