  4. Gil Scot Heron in Leeds 1983 just so f---king cool! James Brown - Hammersmith Appolo 87 (ish) J J BARNES - Seattle 2007 (i think) he sang happy birthday to me on stage, His voice blew eveyone away and i was, for once, lost for words. Its those hideaway/twisted wheel boys who saw loads of brilliant artists...
  5. Ive changed my mind, your selling the idea to me now!
  6. Adam Leaver had one on last weeks Rookierecords list. Dontee...Rock Candy.....Alone With No Love/I Don't Think..M-...125 Description: two great sides on this white label demo (so no fears that this is a boot). A-side is a play-out Northern belter, whilst the flip is basically the same track as the Darling Dears but with male group vocals. And probably the better for it in my book Soundclip: https://www.rookiesrecords.co.uk/jan10_1_05.mp3
  7. Yes, i remember the offer mate. But, even now, these things take a long time until there on. I paid Mick proper equity and writers fees and he had commission on attendance aswell, so he earnt lot of money from it. He was commisioned (by Urban Expansions ltd) via his agent. I have legal representation, so no panic. Maybe Lime need to be very careful if they cant trace a clean line of ownership, intellectual property and any plagiarism. as i said, we shall see . Doesn't matter how good a production company are, if they have people with no idea or soul advising them. The Bolton musical was a joke, a hash, an attempt at making a west end hit! It failed miserably. It was contrived. It seems that the desire to do it is driven by the greed of two individuals. One is a writer who doesn't give a flying f--k about the scene or indeed know much about it (apart from what he saw in rehearsals & reading), the other is a guy whos been dining out on Wigan Casino since it closed, who admits he never knew what went on amongst the punters (socially & on the floor) until he saw the play. So, i just worry its another callous, souless attempt at making money....like the 'musical'. I bet Mr Wigan has a whole line of souveneir mugs, shirts, coasters planned to go with the 'hollyoaks does wigan special.'
  8. Yep, they turned it into a blue eyed musical with half the story taken out and NOW a hollyoaks soap film......Mr binstanley, always quality.ha! Added some pics from the original!
  9. As ive said before, the two individuals involved have only one interest...money. Its a way off yet until it goes forward and things are in hand to make sure it doesn't steal scenes, names images, from the original. The published script already contains ALL of my stage directions and musical directions (without permission or credit!), so these guys are in tricky waters......And, obviously it was my original idea, thats why I commissioned the play to be written from the 5 weeks devising in rehearsal that we did. In fact West Yorkshire Playhouse & Contact were partners on it. We shall see...
  10. Apparently,Lime productions are trying to RIP the play 'Once Upon A Time In Wigan' (which i commisioned and devised with love, care and soul, in 2002 with my company (URBAN EXPANSIONS), into a one off TV drama, but with all reality and soul taken out! But worry not, I feel a legal challenge coming on... Do Mr Wigan & Trick Martbin, have no shame! Im told its the same company that do Hollyoaks, so you can see where its going! Shamefull! They never give up in their search to squeeze a quick buck out of everything and in doing so squeeze the soul and honesty out!

Id say , unless your very lucky, that its going to be £400 minimum. If one went up on ebay or jms now, im sure it would be a £500/£600 tune and quite rightly given its two great sides and the ridiculous money that some oldies are going for. good luck mate.

  16. Prince Geno And The Tailormades Brand New Man With The Master Plan Fabulous & Infectious, a lilting jazzy piano & guitar fused intro, momentarily soars on strings, then a soulful vocal adds attitude and protest this classy arrangement. A mid-tempo delight to keep the dancefloor rockin' away. Positively perfect for DJs who pride themselves on sets involving the off-the-wall productions of real-quality. A pleasing bonus, is how Bill Hancock's Washington D.C. release has taken the classic design of the iconic Los Angeles label giving this 1974 release a face to admire, also. Current bid: £ 8.00 GREAT semi known to have its day....top drawer On JMs now...check the clip! [url="https://www.raresoulman.co.uk/auction/login/id/4650"]

  20. Ha! amazing...you can only hear a 4/4 beat.....therefore you should be happy with all music. Frankie has an 8/4 beat to me. But i guess you always danced.4/4. If you look at old clips from Wigan of people stomping (shuffling) their not following a 4/4 Pete.
