  1. Seems to be no one on to this rarity (double sider) with one day left. Plenty of the shit versions floating about (terrible bontempi organ on it! ) at £75 a pop. Or is it because eveyone waits last minute to bid! It really is a very hard tune to find! Took me bloody ages!
  2. Have NEVER planned a set. Always depends on venue and whats gone on before. Even at Lowton, the crowd changes month to month and the energy of the night can really vary. People sometimes want uptempo from the off and sometimes beautiful, moving soulful mid-tempo. Thats why djs MUST be there for the whole night..right from the off! And above all they must not come with a plan just a soul.
  3. tis a better description!
  4. Good Summary. Retire the old guard who have lost the enthusiasm and simply go through the motions. You see it at loads of venues. The dj playing tunes with no emotion, rhythm or energy in their own body and mind! Totally uninspiring.
  5. Dont know what a classic oldie is? One mans classic is another mans repetitive strain syndrom. Also depends on the crowd. If you started off with classic oldies at DDA you would be in trouble, as people are in there because they are sick of hearing battered classics. Kev Canes warm up tunes however would do the business. So, I think, look at the venue and then decide. The Chelmsford crowd seemed to be up for it and liked a bit of funk...so give them it!
  6. Ha! I knew you would get revenge on my spelling
  7. GET IN THE CUE SHEP!

I have Ray, but not parting. Samantha Goldie had one up for sale a while back?
  9. Tres amusant! It won't make anyone a load of money. I've only produced 500 copies. But I hope it does make some money. I mean it's not a crime is it? Phil Cert! Ta muito engrecado. E verdade! I really have no objection to people making money and i hope you dont lose money. I just cant see it and no its not a crime. I dont like the tune and thats not a crime either, just an opinion.
  10. Would love to see him...great artist.
  11. Closed minds if they dont agree with you? Thats a very closed minded statement isn't it. I admit my earlier post was wrong....I meant that it sounds like A TEARDROP EXPLODES not TEARS FOR FEARS! "until I learn to accept my reward" do da da do da!doooooo! You really do know your pop and it certainly shows and prevails with the Lamarr tune! Well done with a poptastic track.
  12. UH, what a ridiculous thing to say. If you look a few posts up theres a soundclip? All you do is press play and listen....easy really
  13. Maybe.! In that case hes done a great job of making Live instruments sound like synths. Got a bit of a 'new romantic' feel to it...reminicent of TEAR FOR FEARS.... Really good 80s retro feel. Well done and very brave, not many would go for that sound. But, i guess us none believers will be eating humble pie as the floors of Northern venues vibrate to this brilliant tune and its makers are once again, as in the 80s, making lots of (and I dont mean to quote Spandau Ballet ) GOLD!
  14. Whats a Parashute? Is it like a Parachute, but but doesn't open up as well? Or is it just a bad copy of the real thing
  15. REVISED!
  16. Its a terrible effort and if this thread is going to be used like a soul supermarket, to promote this ASDA price tune, then, im afraid you have to take the criticism if people dont like it! It shows that whoever produced it hasn't been out or on the scene for a very, very, long time. Since 78 by the sounds of it. Tacky, hollow and a terrible vocal.....which djs out there are playing it? So I know which venues? to avoid
  17. HOW BAD IS THIS TUNE! Synthed up to the eyeballs and reminicent of the worst of Wigan sounds! KGF do the whole modern take on Northern so much better. They seem to have abetter understanding of the production values and particularly vocals!.........just my opinion of course.
  18. Offers? Thought Inell was a £40/60 tune?
  19. YES, hes a T-at and shouldn't be djing. Leave it to people who still care. Whats his name? Do the venues who book him know hes using cuts? Does he tell them? Do the punters know? If its a no to any of these questions, hes a complete rip off arse!

GET REAL....for gods sake. CDs actually sound different to vinyl. BUT if you have missed that point in the first place, you will never get it mate. Also, most of my vinyl isnt out on cd? Am I supposed to do a compilation of my non cd vinyl and stick it on at a venue? Guess that would give you time to go to the bar and chat about the latest cd releases. Cant even believe this thread is on here....joke

  22. THANKS MATE
  23. Think I have a rough looking one that plays ok somewhere. Will have a look...cheap!
  24. ANYONE have them? thanks
  25. People who slag you off if your not playing of an original record because its a second issue total tossers. I remember some years ago when I was 15/16 just getting into northern down at a soul do in Birmingham. I was just starting to collect records and I was talking to this older fella about it I think he was pissed and he said to me ( unless yer payin over £ 100 pound for records you dont know what your on about ) looking back what a total DICK He was a total dick, cos thee are thousands of great tunes that cost a tenner. BUT you shouldnt be djing with second issues. Play em at home and leave the djing to the ones who show it respect. I pay to go into a venue with 'real money' and expect 'real' records not some half arsed guy having a stab at djing with second issues (sound quality can be very bad on these) or boots....
