Oh well you are entitled to your opinion paul and so is everyone else,and i know a lot of peoples opinion of you is that you are also what you are .As for middleton im no expert but i know it hits the spot for an awful lot of people as do a lot of other clubs you seem to keep haveing a go at. I am indeed what I am. nothing more, nothing less. Its all we can hope for....if honesty prevails. I haven't had a go at any club. I just pointed out that some clubs claiming to be something that they are not. If DDA claimed we were an Northern soul oldies room or a pure crossover room, for instance, we would be misrepresenting what we do. So, maybe people need to actually read what I put and realise its not having a go, its pointing out some misrepresentation thats going on. I think every venue has the punters it deserves and thats whats needed. I attend Burnley when I can and , unlike yourself, I HAVE attended Middleton an many occasions and feel in a position to have an opinion......your permission granting, of course I have in fact visited, at some time or other, most nighters that have been and are going and I go for the music. Wilton was great on Friday, for instance. Once again, my initial statement was in response to someone who said "if you think you have heard all the sounds, get down to Middleton". I did and I had!

just a reply to his constant digs joan,but dont flatter yourselves havent just removed the posts on this thread a lot more to life than ss so rather than the constant backward and forward digs decided not to take part anymore and just continue running the venues im involved with.If people want to come they will ,so i will leave you good people to it,hope somebody finds out what happened to ken soul. A musical opinion on a venue isn't a dig? If someone says "get to ---------- venue, if you want to hear new stuff" and the stuff isn't new,( in fact it was being played in smaller clubs years earlier and we were playing it), thats a FACT, not a dig. I think there is a large amount of Paranoia going around with some promoters who feel their venue needs to cover EVERYTHING in terms of the broad spectrum of 'soul' music. Some venues are BIG COMMERCIAL enterprises and thats fine, but dont tell me about the eclectic and open music policy and not expect a response. I LISTEN to music and I love it and I have visited a lot of venues and listened at ALL of them. Now -------------- may be the biggest, bestest, mostest, fullest, everest venue on earth, but it certainly isn't breaking musical ground. FACT and not a dig. And why should it do anything else? Its a successful all nighter venue and has a recipe that works for the nature of the 'social' event. As, I said, each to their own, but you are what you are.
