  1. NEW FANGLED TECHNOLOGY TYPE THINGY STUFF AND ME DON'T MIX! Off on a course for a couple of days, not computors unfortunately, but will have another go when i get back! SORRY!
  2. I have this Pat Lewis track "the loser" on Solid Hit. It is one of a number of tracks that i particuarly like but haven't had the gonads to play out yet! What do people think of it? Should i give it a try or put it back on the shelf! Has it been played anywhere before? Help please.
  3. Hope this is OK
  4. We're all at the Upstairs Downstairs on regular monthly nights but the club is certainly looking to resurrect some of the all-nighter spirit in the future, possibly the Carleton if we can sort the potential red tape! and more importantly being able to get em IN Was handed a flyer last week for a night at the Carlton on 18th of June - is this your lads?
  5. Anything that lasts 32 seconds!
  6. Think the club near Stoke was "Razzamataz", or something like it. I can remember someone selling a series of excellent photo's taken at the concert, via Blackbeat. Lost mine! Anybody got any copies? The Hinkley concert was recorded(Chris King maybe), much better sound quality than the Torch album, think i bought my copy at Morecambe. Gaz
  7. Voted for "you don't want me no more" - epitome of the northern sound! Anyone who liked the "i never thought........" track should try his 80's lp "The Major's back" on Kool Kat.
  8. Just been sorting out the garage at home and came across a box of 70's/80's soul/ deep soul/ disco stuff i put in here about 10 or more years ago! Think there is about 200 in all, mostly 45's, few 12" and lp's. Doubt i'll ever use/play these again but might be of use to someone. I'll finish listing these this week, so far i've listed about 60-70 Philly 45's - the usual suspects plus one or two that may be harder to find - Spiritual Concept, Jean Carn, Bunny Sigler, the Ebony's,etc. Quiet a few of the pre-Philly CBS/Epic issues. 12" includes Brainstorm, Norman Conners, Gwen McCrea, etc. Anyone into this sort of stuff fancy a trade for some 60's stuff, not rare things but Otis,Sam & Dave, Aretha, that sort of thing? Let me know and i'll e-mail completed list when it,s done.
  9. Used to travel to Morecambe quiet a bit. Saw some great acts - Gene Chandler, etc. Even got to meet Chuck Jackson. Probably spend all day trying to remember the guy from Penrith. If it's the one i'm thinking of he worked on the door when the nighters moved to the Carlton. Nice to see Morecambe gettin' a mention, i think it is often over looked when venues are discussed!
  10. Didn't "Mighty Clouds of Joy" by the Mighty Clouds of Joy get some plays?
  11. Yes please! Hope not too late!
  12. Excellent record.
  13. Going back many moons, The Folkhouse in Mansfield i think, i can remember hearing a song called "teasy" or "do the teasy". Can anyone provide any info. I've been told it was also on a boot lp called "groovin' with mr. hollywood" Thanks
