  4. I wasnt at this anniversary, but if it was like the earlier ones, it was certainly all it was cracked up to be, packed to the rafters, atmosphere undescribable, but then anyone who never went - just wouldnt know!! Even the Saturdays leading up to anniversary night were electric if i remember rightly!! Alan
  5. Tone, What a great record, first Neptune 45 i owned, cheap quality tune!! Have a vague memory of hearing it in Mr Ms once - cleared the floor apart from yours truly! Alan
  6. Mark, Great article mate, i'd stopped going by that time, but some great stuff there that still sounds good now will only ever remind me of one place - Wigan Casino. Foranyone who never went, your collection of live tapes must be a priceless insight into the atmosphere that i've never known since. No live tapes left myself now, but well remember the old cassette recorder left on the edge of the balcony with mic hanging over the side! How well that Chris Cark would have gone down then!!! Alan

Thought you'd remember buying this for 7/6 Tone!! Yes, sounded good at Lightwater the other week, along with the OJays - Hold On, went well in a 70s spot i thought. Al Oh yes Reading definitely not the same without the big fella - no mod nights - no little mods making a mess on the dancefloor, ripping off toilet doors etc. Happy days!!!

If i remember rightly Bev's tape had things like this track, Charades, Clifford Curry etc, how good did they sound then - and still do now!! Quality tracks stand the test of time mate. Feeling a bit deep tonight with the news about Nige Shaw, a man who knew a quality track for sure!! Alan

--> QUOTE(mark.b @ Jun 15 2006, 10:41 PM) link I would say that this was probably an early spin on the scene possibly the torch maybe the twisted wheel, cnat be sure but it seems to have been around for a long long time. mark The guy i heard it from was a Torch regular, so thats most likely - great record wherever/whoever played it first!! Alan
  20. Pleased to hear dispute sorted out. To be fair to the seller, i was shut down by Ebay before Xmas due to my daughter selling some counterfeit item!! Took me nearly a month to get back on, meanwhile you cant access your account, items sold etc. so that may well explain the delay. Alan

Think i first heard this on a tape made up for me by Bev Nipps in Reading, about 1974/75 along with many other classics, all new to me at the time. This has always been a fave of mine & heard it out - in a 70s spot - couple of weeks ago. Proof that you dont have tospend a fortune to get a top notch record!!!! Alan
  22. I first heard this in Mr Ms - i think - very hazy days, probably 74ish. My sort of sound!!!
  23. Agreed Mark, great girly track, bootlegged as the Sweet Things - Love You Eternally if i remember rightly. Alan
  24. Heres hoping that the next news posted about Nige's condition is as bright as one of his shirts, thinking of him & his family. Alan
