Pete I couldn't agree more- what planet do some of these dealers live on indeed I have been in sales for many years, and as you are well aware, you need constant revenue and profit to keep your product offering fresh - therefore sell at decent prices and you will achieve this Trying to sell at crazy prices will not achieve this Nd will simply force buyers to look elsewhere A good example is on the high street, Jessops, HMV etc etc - competition is tough and you need to react to combat this You clearly do this and are successful - others that done, will not survive Still cant believe you got £185 for Ernie and Ed though LOL - good example because if you had asked £300 for it, it would still be there Best Jim

Pete I was only referring to Keith's prices that I seen on his last list From what I have seen of your recent lists, I think your prices are very fair, and that my friend is how you records! It's basic sales principle, you can price anything too high (cars, houses, records etc.), but there ain't no point if it doesn't sell Better to price fairly, sell the record, get the money in, and move on to buy others and so on As I see it, your years of experience clearly pays off as you shift your records and seem to have a great turnover, hence people look at your lists I actually don't look at many people's lists now as I know they will be the same as the last months - full of good records, but vastly overpriced Jim

Agree Mal, only giving a reason why the poster did dot sell anything from his list Everyone is thinking it but I had the balls to post it Apologies if it offends Keith, no harm intended, merely stating my opinion Jim

Northern Soul/raven Records 'a Secret Of Mine' By Lost Soul
Fair point Pete Lets hope not! Sill, since I've came back on the scene, it does seem to be pretty common everyone seems to make it common knowledge of unknowns that they are after - dont see a problem with people posting for wants that are well known, but when it's not known, we always used to keep fairly quiet about it - back in the day that is

Northern Soul/raven Records 'a Secret Of Mine' By Lost Soul
Thanks for the info, BUT I can't help feeling that by telling lots of others about things like this, it just pushes prices sky high This is listed in an odd e bay section and some keen collector may have stumbled upon it, but by publicising it, every bugger knows now What happened to the days when you just kept these little find to yourself???

Eddie Parker On Manships Site
Good point pete, great that you still have recordings from that era I was lucky at that time as a local DJ called Ian Martin was buying loads of big stuff back then that was classed as "newies" What a joy it was to walk to his house on a weeknight at that time and listen to lester Tipton, al Williams etc etc. Sadly he is another who is no longer with us I'm afraid Jim

That sounds about right timing wise as I remember Searling playing this at Clouds in Edinburgh around 1979 - I was but a lad, but remember most of RS's stuff around that time - Rita and the tiarras, al Williams etc. etc. - first batch of "newies" ( as opposed to "60's newies" played much later) getting played on the scene Incredible foresight at he time!

The Directions - Brunswick Lp - Any Ideas On Current Price ?
Probably right tony that the price will have jumped this week Pity that it takes some people to possibly only start chasing it when Butch or another big name DJ plays it!!! What ever happened to DJ's with some imagination and balls??? They obviously weren't listening all those years ago when it was cheap!!!!

Deon Jackson - Someday
I tend to agree with Chalky on this - its more like a boot when its been cut, recut, recut, recut etc. In saying that i must admit that I did play my copy (which came direct from Martin Coppell 22 years ago - see start of thread) a couple of times, but i felt this was acceptable due to the circumstances of it being only just discovered and was unplayed in the UK so exclusive IF i still had my original copy (which Ron Murphy cut), i would still feel comfortable playing it ONLY because of the circumstances that i got it under 22 years ago If i had never had it and just obtained one of the Cut "cuts", then i wouldnt dream of playing it hope this makes sense jim
