Billy Emerson does a fair few, can heartily recommend "Dancing Whippersnapper"!!! Still looking for "I can do the funky broadway" if anyone has one....!!

Beautiful copy of this killer 45, treat yourself!!! https://cgi.ebay.com/DYNAMICS-WHENEVER-IM-W...1QQcmdZViewItem
  6. Have another version, John Frogg, insane version and pretty big on the European mod scene right now
  7. Jimmy Ruffin also does 96 Tears on a Motown lp As well as Sir Cliff doing Nothing but a houseparty the Tremeloes also whacked out a half decent blue-eyed version. Eddie Philips and the Hot Rod Gang's 100mph rockabilly version of Tainted Love was a big fave in my teens!
  8. Barbara Trent - A woman was made for a man (same label but way rarer) Not a funk record my friend, although since I played it as a cover up down the phone a few yrs ago to a couple of UK funk dj's, one of whom posts here, who were looking for Heartbreak Hotel thinking it was rare just to let them know they still had a lot to learn, when they eventually tracked down it got played by them at funk nights. But it's an r'n'b / jazz vocal, she actually gets second billing on the label to the Richie Corbin Trio who were the jazz combo whose record it actually is.
  9. Some fave r'n'b's didn't see mentioned above that over here play happily at northern do's: Slick Chick - Vernon Harrell (Lescay) Hully Gully Papa - Jasper Woods (VPM) Somebody's always trying - King Size Taylor (Decca) i.e. not Ted Taylor Barbara Trent - Heartbreak Hotel (Red Label) Barbara Trent - A woman was made for a man (same label but way rarer) Bobby Adams - Don't you feel it (Purdy) Denita James - Wild Side (Flip) And have been known to play a blue-eyed version of Just Can't Please You from Texas too..... (haven't risked the Spanish cover version yet but have it, thanks Edu!)
  10. Will throw one up over the w/e if don't go away (it's a holiday weekend here in US so of course it's pouring, ie it's almost like I never left England!). It's an explosion was in a Big Daddy funk Top 10 over 2 years ago so has been played out on that scene for a while.
  11. They do one other on the label that's good also, "Hand Out Love"
