  1. As well as all these rare un's from the two guests, you can expect to hear brilliant cheaper stuff as well, like this Solomon Burke 7" Si Two Sheds played it last time and it went down well, I complimented him on his choice of version of this tune, so he gave me one of his spares. Apparently he's been buying every different coloured label variant of this record hoping for a Yellow one, but I don't think they released one in that colour, but don't tell him.😄
  2. I remember quite a few years ago I did the rare room at Keele and I thought I'd done okay until Cliff Steele and then Mick H came on.☚ī¸ Thankfully I was sitting with Mick Howard when they came on and the conversation was something like what's this Mick, Charlene & the Soul Serenaders he told me Mick what's this, The Limitations "I'm lonely I'm troubled" was his reply. Mick what's this, The Superbs "Wind in my sails" 😜I think was a Butch play from a few years earlier. I'm not sure if Mick H is still playing it but here it is.
  3. I'm pretty sure it was👍
  4. Mick I see Baz has advertised this next Culcheth right across the board 60's & 70's in the main room and this definitely fits the bill. Soul Sam has played this one in the Culcheth Modern Room to a packed dancefloor. It's always a treat to hear this played out loud.
  5. I see 2 Mick H's on the line up Baz. Our very own Heywood Mick H & Nottingham's Mick H. đŸ’Ĩ I missed him at Ashton recently so I'm looking forward to this one, it should be a belter.👍
  6. L.A Power & Light Co "Lets spend some time together"
  7. You do speak rather posh Julian, having said that you do live in the posh part of South Little Hulton👍
  8. Only if it's like Norman Colliers faulty microphone sketch.
  9. That's really funny I don't remember that one 😂, to think he became Man City goalie.😜
  10. Taxi for Ernest Mosley, announced by a top DJ when Stubborn Heart cleared the dancefloor, definitely not mumbled. The mic certainly comes in handy for telling the punters off😄
  11. Nice one Mick.👍
  12. Tim I'd stopped going to the Casino when this was being played so I can only imagine the effect on the dancefloor. Some of these instrumentals you had to be there to get it. I still have a soft spot for Fathers Angels "Bok to Bach".
  13. That's the bootleg, The original is The Total Eclipse Orchestra "6 O Clock" LP track
  14. Great instrumental, file under Wigan Casino classic stomper
  15. A couple of classic Wigan instrumentals Mike & Ike "Sax on the tracks" Sam Ambrose & Friends "They'll be coming"
  16. Norman C has a slight resemblance to legendary Scottish DJ Colin Laws in that picture Stevie.😂 He always had something to say over the mic and some of them 4 letter ones.
  17. Did Levine cover this up as The Johnny Jackson Experience, or was that another instrumental.
  18. Looking forward to it, it'll make a change from the usual saddos stuff that I normally contribute to.
  19. Go on then review some records for us, better still review some of your latest finds that we might not know.👌
  20. Sonny Herman ÂŖ927 Wow I always thought it was ÂŖ400/ÂŖ500 max
  21. Weatherwise I don't think you'll need it mate. I'll bet Rob H was looking forward to doing his rain dance. 😜
  22. Baz, I'm not sure what the weather forecast is but if it gets too hot, then take Martha Redbone with you for the modern room, a former Baz M Prestwich, modern soul midtempo two step anthem. I remember when you first played it, including the 1 minute chant intro, I'm sure it started raining outside.🤔😄😓
