  1. I didnt recognise the track either but Dusty was arguably our finest ever female vocalist. Soulful? Definitely. The bewildered look on the faces of the students was hardly surprising. Kids of today, what do they know, eh?
  2. Pharrell's hat just takes it for me. How about William Bell's Happy, which wipes the floor with both the other records??

Like them both a lot. J'may's slightly tougher lead voice edges it for me but Smokie can certainly hold a tune. I wonder what the connection between the artists is here and how they came to "share" the backing track?
  4. There is a strong resemblance to Lulu. She's OK. I wouldn't pitch it any higher than that.
  5. Another cracking hour of music. Some great picks, Phillip Mitchell, Leela James, Candi Staton, Lee Fields and Robert Cray are standouts. Just terrific. Thanks Scott, please keep it going. Your podcast is essential listening.
  6. Caught the 2nd hour at the time and really enjoyed the Keesha Rainey track in particular.
  7. Barry, Been listening to and downloading your show for ages now. It really is a treat. The Deep Soul and Gospel numbers are always a standout for me. Really appreciate the effort you make in putting them together.
