Fourth of July Wantlist
Continuing the 248 years tradition in which on July 4th, British subjects sell their rarest soul records at good prices to Americans. I'm looking for these: Curly Moore, "Back In Mother's Arms" (Scram, any condition) Gatemouth Brown, "Summertime" (Cue, VG+ or better) Ronnie Barron, "Did She Mention My Name" (Michelle, VG+ or better) Myles and Dupont, "Loud Mouth Annie" (Argo, any condition) Marty Lewis, "Slip's Slop" (Home of the Blues, any condition) The Soul Shakers, "All of My Days" (Teem) Al White and the Hi-Liters "Jamaica" (White Cliffs) Diablo "White Lightning" (Axe) In general, if you have any rare New Orleans stuff and time to reach out, I'd be interested in knowing.

Bare sales posts by new or obscure members
There's a scammer on the Facebook Rare Soul Wants group who's stolen the identity of "Michael Thompkins" and has been offering rare expensive records for sale. (He replied to me about my want.) His PayPal address is kalorocawo@gmail.com and it's associated with the name "Radovan Gazo." I'm going to be reporting him to PayPal in hopes they'll take away his account. If anyone has been scammed by him, please DM me.

Possible New Orleans Excursion for NOLA soul fans/collectors
I am an avid (lunatic?) New Orleans soul/r&b collector. I believer there are others here. I just found out today that the legendary Dew Drop Inn has been renovated as a hotel and club. See: https://secure.thinkreservations.com/dewdropinnnola/reservations (I had to stop looking when I couldn't decide between taking the Allen Toussaint room or the Irma Thomas room or the Huey Smith room.) I have a very preliminary idea that I want to put out there to see if anyone else might be interested. Suppose we planned a meeting at the Dew Drop Inn for NOLA music fans/collectors. Maybe for a 3 day weekend. I live outside Chicago but could definitely advise about food excursions. Maybe we could enlist Deacon John Moore as an MC one evening. Noted NOLA record collector Kent Chatellier would probably help us plan things, including a night or two of NOLA DJ spinning. Lilke I said, this is just throwing an undeveloped idea out there. Let me know if you are potentially interested. If not enough people are interested, I'll have to go to the Dew Drop by myself.
