  1. Hi All After my successful trial run with local Newcastle radio station NE1FM, they've offered me a full time weekly radio show. I'm starting officially on Sunday 18th May, then every Sunday thereafter, from 1pm to 3pm. DJ Greedy G's Ska & Reggae Show will feature top ska, rocksteady and early reggae sounds for the first hour and then 70s roots, 80s dancehall and a smattering of top modern releases in the second hour. There will be no modern "ragga" stuff - just good ska and reggae. It's 102.5 fm in the Newcastle Upon Tyne area and www.ne1fm.com on the internet I'll be taking requests at studio@ne1fm.com or on the studio hotline on 0191 240 1025 Hope you can check me out! My first show of my trial run is available on my podcast at www.djgreedyg.podomatic.com Cheers Gordy

  3. Not getting much feedback at all mate except from those of you who are my good mates. I've had hundreds of views at CM but only yourself, Nige, Jim, Ian and my Springline mates saying it was good. I'm sick of doing stuff and never getting any thanks for it. G
  4. You'd definitely shift plenty of the lower list on EBay. Especially things like Reggae Girl, Longshot & Feel The Rhythm. Hard to give an exact price, but I'd start them off at a fiver and hopefully you'd get a lot more. Some crazy prices on there right now - 10 quid tunes going for 30 etc... Gordy
  5. You could stick them on EBay but they're only worth about a fiver tops each. Maybe best to sell them as a pack. Gordy
  6. A deep soul legend, one of the greatest voices of all time, glad to help out with a few quid. Gordy
  7. Download my new NE1FM (102.5 Newcastle) show from 25.3.08 here: https://www.mediafire.com/?cv1zcmdmnit - HOUR 1 https://www.mediafire.com/?xdxgixxfxxi - HOUR 2 And listen every Wednesday from 5pm to 7pm on www.ne1fm.com or 102.5 in Newcastle Upon Tyne and surrounding areas. Boss sounds from the 60s to now! Feedback appreciated. Cheers Gordy

It's not ska, it's a reggae tune reminiscing about the days of ska. I might have it somewhere, I'll take a look later. G
  9. Sounds like Leo Graham, who had a tune called Revelation Time but that was in the early 70s for Lee Perry and hard to tell with no bassline etc but doesn't sound like an early 70s Scratch production but DOES sound like Leo Graham. Maybe a later recut of the tune? Gordy
  10. The Uppercut Club was still going strong in the mid 80s as I have some reggae sound system tapes recorded there. Interesting thread as boxing is my third main passion after reggae and soul. Gordy
  11. Cheers mate Gordy

  22. Another great show is Mikey Roots and Asher G (top London reggae oldies DJs) on https://www.tuffrockonline.com on Saturday nights from approx 7pm til 10pm. (I say approx cos sometimes they're late getting started lol). Gordy
  23. Forgot to say they've even been known to drop a bit of soul into their shows here and there, not much in the way of NS but lots of Stax, Motown, well known Chicago stuff like The Impressions and Gene Chandler etc. Gordy
  24. If you like a bit of reggae across the board from the 60s til now, Roots FM 95.4 from London are now available worldwide on the net at: https://www.ukrootsfm.com In true Jamaican stylee, there's no info about who plays what but Sunday nights are quite good for revive oldies! Right now they're playing a selection of 1971-74 vocals from the likes of Ronnie Davis, Freddy McKay, Ken Boothe, BB Seaton, etc. Gordy
  25. Damn, I'm jealous I have DJed at a West Indian centre in Moss Side, Manchester though. Lived to tell the tale and the locals loved my selection, so I guess that's my pinnacle as a DJ lol Gordy
