  1. Over 25 Years ago now...been recording some old C90's to mp3 and here's Eddie Holman on April 12th 1985 at Regency Suite Hinckley (across the road from the leisure centre) Was a great night....some great annecdotes from Eddie between the songs...especially about Larry Clinton saying what a tough guy he was and when Larry said write a record for me you didn't say no! - That record turned out to be "She's Wanted"! Chris King put the night on (used to use Regency Suite when leisure centre was booked)...saw Martha Reeves at the venue too....Snake Davis and the Suspicions providing the music on the night with his unmistakeable Sax! Excellent night! Here's the song list: Eddie's my Name She's Wanted All in the Game I Surrender Hey There Lonely Girl Hurt Where I'm not Wanted This will be a night to remember This Gets to me
  2. hey go with me I was enjoying myslef lol Think I just pine for Stafford too much!
  3. Can imagine Keb or Guy playing that at TOTW Stafford back in the day!
  4. Decided to record a live Lost Nite album to mp3 which I picked up 23 years ago on my first trip to the States. Lee Andrews and the Hearts singing a few standards along with their classic - can't do without you. Anyway...hope you enjoy! A little moment which I've also put separately where he introduces the band Side one Side two And for those who just want to hear the Northern Tune it's here!
  5. Ian will you stop doing this please....heard it...had to buy it! ....via the internet! £25! yep the internet a wondeful thing in many ways...although do miss the aspect of driving hundreds of miles to hear the elusive DJ who had the only copy of the record I loved! Then again I'm 46 now so you are probably right want to hear it from my armchair!
  6. Been sat on my pc for 3 months now. Thought I better upload before I forget again!
  7. Bit off topic Mark lol...but Roy Wood lives near me in Much Wenlock...often see him in Shrewsbury town centre...still got the hair and beard!
  8. Think you are right!
  9. Yep agree with that! Mr Rae of course!
  10. Heard it was a bric-a-brac shop that closed, he bought all the stock and amongst the junk he managed to find the find of his life! Just wondered if anyone been keeping count...actually be a bit sad if you had I guess lol Did hear the figure of 100 but who knows...maybe he'll tell us when he's sold the lot...just glad to own one at last at a price I can (relatively) afford!
  11. So do we know how many he had yet? Anyone kept count?
  12. Continental Four - Way I love you - Jay Walking 009 Mint - never played - got it from Craig Moerer (Records by mail) Free postage...hurry whilst I'm feeling generous lol Paypal as gift please. Goes without saying, money back if not happy. Jonzy

Damn...missed it!...how much was it if I'm allowed to ask?
  14. Whilst on the subject of my birthday night he's Eddie too!
  15. Top of the World Stafford Allnighter , Lorraine Chandler and Eddie Parker appeared there on my 21st birthday! Just a coincidence I might add, MaMa didn't book them!
  16. And here she is when I recorded her sing it on my 21st birthday night at TOTW!
  17. For me being an ex Stafford regular it has to be...Mr Brady's top sound! I'm back at TOTW all over again...rushing on the floor and dancing like a man posessed!
  18. hee hee....he was younger in those days...maybe his voice hadn't broke! But yes it's a bit 47 rpm! it's the Moses Smith version rather than Epitome Of Sound interview! Or maybe Prophets rather than Originals? Tried in a few cassette players so think it was my recorder at the time!
  19. More than welcome guys....it's what friday nights in are all about! As I said better than expected interview really...considering it was Radio One! Think Janice had done her homework before the interview! Maybe her boyfriend at the time...told her don't take the piss we take this seriously! Thought I'd share...will keep checking the old cassettes! Jonzy.
  20. Been trawling through my old cassette tapes and found this 1988 (I think) interview with Guy Hennigan and Janice Long off Radio One as I remember. Considering Janice's lack of knowledge she did give Guy the repect he deserved and not a bad interview at all considering. Guy plays some great tunes including: Embers - First Time Inticers - Since You Left Jackie Day - Naughty Boy Brooks Brothers - Looking for a Woman Roscoe Shelton - You are the Dream Inverts -Time will Change All big sounds for Guy at the time. Well worth a listen....comments welcome.
  21. Yep very clever son you have there! Funky guitars never bothered me before but always going to notice now! First heard this on the Dave Evison show on Signal Radio...got it on tape somewhere...forgotten who the guest was who came on every week to play a modern soul selection...can someone remind me? Managed to get one for £90 off evilbay about 5 years ago fortunately..always have to turn the master volume up if I ever play it whilst DJ'ing....always plays a bit quiet! Great emotive track!
  22. Fantastic! Think it kinda epitomises why we hang on to this musical era so dearly....it happened at a magic time, never to happen again.....that era was pure soul magic..that's why I will always love this thing we call (Northern) Soul until my dying days. It's not about nostalgia...it's about class that will never be repeated.
  23. It's February the 18th 1983 and this tender young 18 year old from Shrewsbury has arrived with my mate Carl Heaps at the first Annivesary Allnighter of the Central England Soul Club at the Nottingham Oddfellows Club Humberstone Gate Leicester. Chris King's on the decks and Rev Tony Claytion getting everything prepped for the dance competition. "Can someone find Adam and bring him up on the stage please and even if he's downstairs" Chris King is playing a live version of Edwin Starr's Time recorded at Hinckley a few weeks before and plugging The Live Rictic Revue Album recorded at Hinckley which was never to come out.The Reverand thanks Chris King for his donation of raffle prizes and annuonces the raffle will be drawn straight after the dance competion.Oh it takes me back...just found an old C90 cassette I recorded that night, thought I'd better record for soul source for prosperity...happy times! I feel 18 again! Part one Part two Were you there too?
