"sorry I don't have scan of 'voodoo' side, as i sold it for this side last December." Hi Kev, Didn't understand that comment Also, is it just me, or couldn't anybody else open Kev's soundbyte?

Once again, BRILLIANT!!! I've never been particularly fond of this record and I very rarely like live recordings but for me, this is FAR SUPERIOR to the issued 45. Anybody else think so? In fact, for me, it's a completely different / superior 'take'. ACTUALLY, I've just listened to the 45 on Soul Club . org and I'm guessing it was an import 45 which sounds very similar to the YouTube 45, in fact, it's almost identical BUT I'm convinced the UK 45 is a different / inferior cut. Can somebody help confirm / deny that?

BRILLIANT!!! I'm constantly amazed at how these old clips turn up like they do. I sincerely hope somebody, somewhere, is copying these for posterity? Let me know who and where? PLEASE!!!

Was that the Byrds as backing group to Dobie?
  5. Does anybody know why some are black and silver when most are blue and off white / blue and silver. Also, anybody seen a Cobra demo?
  6. I don't get it? If I asked for a scan of a demo of a really rare record, I'm almost certain somebody would come up with something!!! Soon as you ask for something about a record that is only reasonable scarce, nowt, absolutely zilch. Perhaps this is REALLY rare then? 'Cos nobody can come up with anything!!! Interesting, eh?
  7. Would be much appreciated.
  8. Oops, sorry, repeated that twice. Anyhow, thanks to Kev for his VERY prompt and very useful initial response. Can anybody else shed any further light on this? Basically, who has a demo copy of this 45 and can they describe it / scan it so I can better understand the difference between the red and white one and the black and white one. Other than that colour difference, they are absolutely identical with nothing to suggest that the black and white one might be a demo.
  9. Who's Oggie?
  10. Who's Oggie?
  11. But did it look like a normal Demo? ie with demo type markings, ie not for sale, promo, leter A, review copy, etc, etc. Or was it totally devoid of all markings to suggest it was a demo, just that it was black on a matt white background?
  12. Every copy of this 45 I've ever seen has been a kind of purpley-red print on a glossy eggshell white background. Has anybody ever seen or got one with black print on a matt white background? Can anybody explain why the difference? Could it be a demo? Has anybody got a demo? If so, please post a scan if possible / able.

Nah, not released in UK, only ever seen it on US Coral.
  15. What kind of prices do things like this fetch? Do people collect them? They're quite heavy, being metal with vinyl sprayed over the top then the groove cut later. I think that's how they're made?
  16. Thought so but it says Maja in the latest RC Price Guide
  17. So, no great shakes then. Worth how much would you guess?
  18. First of all, is it Maja or Maya Fernik? Right, I have this 2 sided acetate on audiodisc, as follows; Kiki Dee - Love Is A Warm Kind Of Sorrow, backed with Maya Fernik - Give Me Your Love Now I can see that the Maya Fernik track got a release on UK Philips as Maja Fernik in 1972. Valued at £22 in the book but not sure if it's worth / sells for more with collectors? The Kiki Dee track does not appear to have a UK release, well not as a 45 according to the book. Can anybody say otherwise? Anyhow, why do you think these two tracks were cut back to back on audidisc? In fact, what can you folks tell me about audiodisc acetates, compared say to emidiscs? Are these two recordingsworth much individually? Did the Kiki Dee recording come out on an Lp if it wasn't released as a 45? What about US releases? In fact, I'd appreciate any information at all regarding these two individual recordings and this back to back acetate in particular. Thanks in advance.
  19. Come on, there's got to be a spare copy for sale somewhere out there?
  20. Dear Moderators, Might this be better transferred to Wants Forum? Can you please do that for me? Thanks.
  21. Ooooh, sorry to hear that.
  22. Ah, but do the DJs still have them? Might they now be all in the hands of collectors, who don't all necessarily DJ?
  23. Well? Somebody's gotta have a copy for sale? Oh, must be in excellent shape.
  24. No wet dreams I hope.
  25. If you mean by accident, all the time mate!!! Especially with me working away from home a lot, I can't always remember what I've got. Eg fairly recently, American Youth Choir UK Polydor, Betty Everett, I've Got A Claim On You, UK Sue, 3 copies . . . seriously. Think one might be a Demo? If by design then again, yes. For instance, Scott Bros - Stolen Angel - on Ribbon issue and Demo, local label called Dorset, and on the Canadian label Castle. Also came out on Cameo (or Parkway) but it's a different / inferior cut. Other occasions are when I get issues and Demos. Can never decide which one to keep? Eg Patrice Holloway, UK Capitol, Break Out, Mitch Ryder, Stateside, (as well as on Soul Sounds too). So, I keep both, especially if they're both in the same condition. It's a curse.
