Ebay Buyers / Bidders Id
Bugger me, no I ddn't. One of those horribly repeating occasions when I forgot to go back and put a bid on it, even if only to keep it in mind.

Ebay Buyers / Bidders Id
Tried that. Seems to have fallen on deaf ears. I asked the seller for the info I was after before posting off the record but he wasn't interested. So I asked him to forward my request on to the buyer. Got no response. He could have passed it on to the buyer who is also not interested, I don't know. So I have to try and contact the buyer direct now to see what happens.

Ebay Buyers / Bidders Id
Who was it that posted up on Soul Source not long ago, saying that there is a way of identifying an eBay buyers username from the coding eBay seem to use these days when listing the bidders, eg i***s or e***k etc. Only, I'd like to contact a recent eBay buyer with a question about a record they won (no, it's not will you please sell it to me) to add to information I'm collecting for a little project I'm doing. Please PM me if you can help

Can others suggest or send you details of other UK releases that may be of interest?

How about linking to a site that doesn't close you down, like Soundcloud?

Marcels - Letter Full Of Tears - Chartbound
Still after a copy of this. Thought I had one but the guy had sold it at a local flea market about a month ago. Oh well, back to the drawing board. Somebody out there must have a copy for sale. Please . . . . . .

As a matter of interest, do you know the latest year any of those got released? Not 1974 by any chance?

Marty Hill - Mr. Oracle Of Love - Columbia
I think I'm right in saying though, that for that period, solid centres were more common. Would you not agree? So, it could be that the push-out centre types may be more rare? Nitpicking I know, but it's all good fun.

Marty Hill - Mr. Oracle Of Love - Columbia
And as this UK Philips scan shows, it was a 1961 release, so just about right for Tony's demo sticker.

Prince Ella & Sidney Jones - Baby Sugar I Love You - Prince Label
Sound file anybody?

Marty Hill - Mr. Oracle Of Love - Columbia
Mine's solid centre like the link. Sure it wasn't too early for the push-out centre Tony? They used to do black and white demos I think, around the time of this release, so am surprised to hear of the demo sticker. Probably got my facts a bit out of date though?

Marty Hill - Mr. Oracle Of Love - Columbia
I was very lucky then cos I picked one up around September 2011. Was originally after the 33rpm version on US Columbia but dropped lucky with the UK Philips copy instead.

Pitching Up
Like I said earlier, I have a Thorens TD 150 with no pitch control, not because I'm a "purist", but because that was the hand I was dealt when I first bought my record player . . . . second hand . . . . and I've still got it all these years later. But you're right, they should be checked regularly, especially the belt. I'm on my 3rd so far.

Pitching Up
I have a belt driven Thorens TD 150. So as you can see, I have no pitch control whatsoever.

Pitching Up
I see what you're getting at and a valid point it is too. Can't and won't argue with that. But pitching up or down? Well, I DID say, each to their own.
