Damaged records....who claims ?
Crickey Karl, I would have fought that one assume you covered it for £750 ?

Damaged records....who claims ?
This is simple, you absolutely need to get the buyer (if they are outside the UK they cannot claim) to send you PDF images of the damaged packaging and record damage (I put in my Terms and Conditions on Discogs). Then complete a claim on line and on this occasion I have to disagree with Karl as they paid me out last month on a £50 order to Russia (standard mailer with cardboard packing) (The Post Office would have to ban the use of such mailers if they did not want to pay out). They won't pay the Postage Costs though which I still think is scandalous as we have paid those costs for a service.

Need help on another unknown acetate
It may have been better (and I would have posted this on the Freebasing bit), honestly, if this record is and was played on the Soul Scene, I would have fetched my coat very very quickly. There are little parts of of it though that do have appear to have a "touch" of "Son-Of-A Preacher Man"

Picture a world with no more soul events
Hi Kev Can we have some serious thoughts from you on what the future holds and how it may affect things please. as I mentioned before it's promoters such as yourself that have so much more knowledge

They seem to be doing something close to my dad's idea Next year’s A-levels and GCSEs in England could be pushed back later into the summer to allow more teaching time, says Education Secretary Gavin Williamson.

If it's that early I will be amazed. I agree with the above and after all the Bank Of England Governor was taking yesterday about how sorry he was for night clubs / venues (which I assume fits in to this category) and how tough it was going to be for them to survive

Rose Batiste Hit And Run
What I cannot understand and am amazed is that this forum seems to be absent of Tim Brown, John Manship etc why is that ?...... were they once members and for some reason can't be bothered, surely people of their vast knowledge would chose to comment on these questions and help us figure out what is what ?

Rose Batiste Hit And Run
I think the confusion came with some of her credits on backing vocals (incorrectly credited as Thelma)

Diane Hogans (who dated Stevie Wonder) is another "potential" contender as she was also a member of The Debonaires It does make me wonder if "one" of these ladies was lead on Hit and Run (the version being discussed) and Telma seems the most likely to me and I think you are spot on about the label. what a fantastic shout mate, maybe Don chose her name for the label (it happens a lot)- Rose Batiste Hit And Run
I haven't heard Pat Lewis's version, can I assume it's nothing like this ?- Rose Batiste Hit And Run
I can't quote him yet until he has come back to me as I have queried it with him Will Kev Roberts be able to help ?, as he might have been involved with Tim and the masters and the Grapevine thing- Rose Batiste Hit And Run
I just got another message saying it was actually Gwen Owens ?- Rose Batiste Hit And Run

Bit of interest here on Tim Brown's current auction for a Demo Now, around 20 years ago when we had Goldmine Soul Supply, we hit a deal with Don Davis for release of all his productions on Solid Hitbound, Revilot, Ric-Tic, Thelma, etc, etc. Virtually all of this was done via the mastertapes (although the process was never 100% completed in terms of extracting material) and many situations cropped up including this. As I remember it, this take of ‘Hit & Run’ is actually the Debonaires, although the flipside ‘I Miss My Baby’ is Rose. We put out Battiste’s actual take of it on C.D.- Picture a world with no more soul events
Finally a teacher to talk to 😀. I wondered what you thought to my fathers idea (he is 84) As the system has missed out on 3 months (approx) of education (we have 2 young buys 9 and 7) , he said "Why don't they just push the whole education system "back" 3 months including all exams, so the kids finish their classes and final schooling in December instead of September, so they will have then lost nothing (assuming no second wave)" What do you think ? - Rose Batiste Hit And Run
