Ian Levine On 6 Music Tonight
I didn't know he played any carvers for sure but when listening I did think the Parliaments sounded muffled compared to rest of playlist. Was it a carver then James? And Margie Singleton Ian said was unreleased and yet on a previous thread I think you and Chalky said you'd been playing it or at least already knew it. Is it unreleased? ROD

Ian Levine On 6 Music Tonight
I listened and if there is still any confusion Charades was first 45 and Moments "Key to..." was inbetween Martha Starr and Soulsations. Wasn't keen on James Lovejoy sorry or that Latimore 45 which was a bit dull I thought. Rest were very enjoyable. I'd imagine people will be snapping up that "Smile awhile" by Impact whilst it's still cheap. However when I think of Ian as a dj I remember him as ahead of the pack. I think that spot puts him squarely in with the pack. Don't know if Ian himself would be happy with that or what. Missed last hour to watch "The Mist" ROD

Eddie Parker - Love You Baby
"So as I am not blind and know what kind of record I was holding and grading when I had said copy in my hands and" Im sorry Marc I read the above in Post#11 to mean you'd had the Eddie Parker. In fact later you mention that you'd seen most of the records were Mint so you didn't need to grade them. Obviously no idea who is in the wrong here but I guess people know Simon and if they believe what he's saying to be true then you're losing future custom by refusing to even check the 45 if he sends it back to you. Yes it is a hassle but last load I sold on here were for a mate in NJ and I checked them all and woulda helped out if there had been any comeback. I think that's all Simon is asking for really. I don't know what anyone else thinks who's reading this but right now I'd be wary of selling to Simon and wary of buying from you or Ralf, which is why I'd try and sort it out. ROD

Eddie Parker - Love You Baby
Well no doubt we'll now get Simon's side but your account needs an answer especially the 2 day delivery. That does appear unfeasibly fast for Germany to here unless anyone knows different. However you admit to having and grading the 45 so it's not quite the same as Joe Dunlop or Raving Mad who put their own address on their ads and no doubt do their own grading etc. You kinda got yourself involved there. Should All Dj`s Get Paid For Their Spots?
No it's true. Carpet fitters make the best DJs

Eddie Parker - Love You Baby
Just ask on SS for Marc's address or if he reads this thread he'll most likely supply it. Don't give up on this. ROD

Eddie Parker - Love You Baby
Thanks for refreshing my memory Nev. I did kinda remember the ad. Simon, really just send it back. Marc posted listing. Doesn't matter who he was selling for. ROD

Eddie Parker - Love You Baby
No idea how much money you lost on the deal but if you bought it via Marc he has some responsibility in this matter IMO. You're hopefully gonna get £15 which is nothing really so if it were me I'd send it back to Marc and then the problem of contacting Ralf is in his court not yours. I would imagine that Marc will then try and sort it as he has the 45. It's really a matter of principle so trying to recoup £15 on the deal doesn't enter into it. If you don't hear 'owt from this course of action then you're only £15 down and you know who to avoid next time you decide to buy a 45. ROD

If you bought it through Marc I suggest you send it back now via registered mail and ask him to sort it. Why lose money? ROD

Crap Punters
I think toilet paper is extremely important and integral part of the clubbing experience and it's no coincidence that the two of the most successful all-nighters are run by Andrex Dyson and Soultownandrex. As for chrome decor it does take some getting used to but Chrome wasn't built in a day,was it? Moaning is a British hobby. Don't take it too seriously. ROD Weather is crap here- what happened to BBQ Summer forecast.

Should All Dj`s Get Paid For Their Spots?

Jack Montgomery - My Dear Beloved C/w Do You Believe It - Scepter
I figured that might happen which is why I said "hope" but anyway Sean came up with the answer anyway. The link was just to a completed Ebay auction where this was mentioned. Anyway at least this thread has taught me that I know nothing about the 45,the artist or the workings of Popsike. Pretty depressing really. But at least I've got a long weekend to look forward to with the wife. Very depressing really. ROD

Ken, hope this link works https://www.popsike.com/php/detaildatar.php?itemnr=4741897548 I noticed ref to Marvin Jones but have no idea if it's true or not. I didn't mention it at the time because I thought we were in enough trouble already. ROD

Intrigues "in A Moment"
Had a look at my demo and MSC-8158-1C is in run-out. I assume same markings in "boxed" issue. No idea what that proves but maybe something. If by "scrolled" issue you mean looking like Lou Johnson or Donald Height I've never seen a copy and as it came out 24/10/69 when I'd already started buying soul 45s I think I probably woulda done. Pretty sure the demo of re-issue of "In-crowd" is also on scrolled. ROD

Jack Montgomery - My Dear Beloved C/w Do You Believe It - Scepter
Yes sorry I meant to type "My dear beloved". ROD

Jack Montgomery - My Dear Beloved C/w Do You Believe It - Scepter
Ignore that. Im confusing myself now. To sum up the song was originally titled "Dearly beloved" and came out as a WDJ for promotion. It then was issued as "Dearly beloved" or the rarer "My dearly beloved" It was never on DJ or issue titled "Dear Beloved" ROD

Jack Montgomery - My Dear Beloved C/w Do You Believe It - Scepter
No Mick Im saying that my WDJ is titled "Dearly beloved" However out of this shambles we may have stumbled upon a talking point. I've only been through first page results on Popsike but there appears to be NO wdj for "Dear Beloved" so far. ROD

So probably dear,my beloved? ROD

Jack Montgomery - My Dear Beloved C/w Do You Believe It - Scepter
The rarest version is of course titled "Made by red vole" pressed at the Anagram pressing plant in Ohio. I'd like to add that my copy of "Out on the floor" does not feature any combination of titles under discussion. How do you explain that? ROD

Jack Montgomery - My Dear Beloved C/w Do You Believe It - Scepter
What are you on about!! There is an orig WDJ [at least] titled "Dearly Beloved". Shouldn't you be at work or something? ROD
-
Jack Montgomery - My Dear Beloved C/w Do You Believe It - Scepter
I've listened again and backing singers appear to sing "Dear Beloved" and as I mentioned I have a WDJ stating "Dearly beloved" and there are plenty on Popsike. So good points if not exactly true on both counts. ROD

Jack Montgomery - My Dear Beloved C/w Do You Believe It - Scepter
In fact, where, if anywhere, does the word 'Dearly' enter into the title, apart from the so-called re-issue / boot copy. Mine says "Dearly beloved" orig WDJ. Just had a glance at Popsike. On first page alone there are three copies of "My dear beloved" on red stock copies. ROD

Jack Montgomery - My Dear Beloved C/w Do You Believe It - Scepter
What do you mean "what do you mean"!! Yep. You're right again. Should be [surely] "Dear Beloved". Not a "My" and no "....ly" I can hear in lyric,so mis-titled yes to be exact. I guess if it said "Deer Beloved" that would be a mis-spelling. However I would point out that you've mis-spelt both "miss-spelt" and miss-titled", whilst John has mislabelled "Dearly Beloved" as a mis-spelling when we are both agreed it's a mis-titling error. Pretty mis-erable effort all round and I don't think I can make it any clearer than that!! ROD
