Strangest Artist To Have A Northern Record
Twiggy - Beautiful Dreams Not an Oldie, but I'm sure some must've shuffled around their front room/bedroom/kitchen (delete where appropriate) to it?!

Don Varner: Power Of Love
I think you'll find there are a couple of different mixes on the tapes of that classic thumper...the one on the Charly albums mentioned throughout this thread features beefed up brass etc. Can't recall the instrumental being there, but maybe your tapes were different to the ones Cliff White had access to once upon a time at Quin Ivy's place? I still see the Charly albums over here from time to time (they were cleared out over to these shores loooong ago)...timeless stuff.

Obscure - unusual Foreign Releases
A Japanese copy You may be pleased to know that my book on 60's US Soul released in Japan during the 60s is coming along quite nicely. I've pieced together the Motown output (45/EP/LP) and gone through all the trade catalogues for all other labels...1000+ releases in all! It is all boiling down to the cosmetic appearance...whether to scan all the labels as well as the pic sleeves and how to lay it all out...a time consuming thing and I keep changing my mind! edit: just checked the release date for the above 45...July 63 in the US and Dec 63 in Japan...wonder why 'Nov 63' is written on the label? (There are no finished label promos)...and who is Charles Lee I wonder?!

Postage To Japan Airmail Handling Delivery Schedule
We'll get there in the end! When I mail from Japan to the UK, parcels seem to go into the hands of Parcel Force on arrival in the UK, and they allocate a new parcel code which is still trackable on the Japanese website. The other thing I do know is that the delivery time from doorstep to doorstep can take as little as 3 days...not bad for travelling most of the way around the world! I hope Dukes has sussed it all out by now!?!

Minit (Label Of The Week)
Some fabulous stuff from both incarnations of the label. Here's a few to kick in with from the Liberty series...and I note that the Huggys Ork disc is down in many discographies as by The Mirettes...does that exist as well?

Postage To Japan Airmail Handling Delivery Schedule
Apologies for incorrect terminology, people! However, internet tracking is indeed possible once it arrives in Japan, as the Post Office over here then takes over the parcel and allocates it a new code...a bit like Parcelforce take over when parcels reach the UK.

Postage To Japan Airmail Handling Delivery Schedule
I'm more used to sending from Japan, rather than to here...but if mailing from the UK may I recommend you send it 'International Recorded', which is internet trackable (when it hits this side) and requires a signature on arrival...about £7.50 for maling a well-packed 7", at a guess?

Dee Clarke. Thats My Girl
Jackie Hill on Mar-Brit. Dee Clark's is the best version to my ears...in fact I almost included it on a Charly LP/CDcompilation, but I went for 'That's My Girl' instead as I thought it would appeal to more folks...and it did it seems as that track got a lot of scene exposure for a year or two...not that I'm taking credit mind...blimey I'm sounding like Tony Rounce!?!

Dorothy Berry - (I Say) You're Driving Me Crazy
I see this around in Japan quite often...both variations...and sadly I have no idea as to why there are different titles! Both do feature the exact same track in the grooves...a what a great solid slab of R'n'B complete with fog-horn sax break it is! This track goes hand in hand with stable mate recordings from Jimmy Norman - 'I Don't Love You No More' and 'You Crack Me Up' (also on Polo Records). Both these tracks also feature the trademark fog-horn and the instrumental breaks are similar. Indeed, DorothyB's lyric name checks JimmyN's IDLYNM and is kinda like an answer-song to his track. Seriously love all three tracks...won't break the bank to own all three either!

Northern Soul In Print
I really enjoyed Keith Rylatt and Phil Scott's, 'Central 1179' - all about the Twisted Wheel club. Not pure NS per se, but an impressive piece on one of the groundbreaking clubs at the root of the NS scene to come. Well put together...fabulous memorabilia shots coupled with comprehensive facts and info.
