  1. ...if you want vinyl pressed press on in Middlesbrough is worth a look, theres quite a few lathe cut options out there, but this is more for limited runs Plastidisc and lathe to the grave are worth a look...
  2. hi Steve, is there an issue with where the file is saving to? ( cloud or drive) or does the file have a permissions set? can you save a file to your desktop and see if it still does it then? sometimes duplications can be caused by sync issues
  3. the only reason I ask this is if its an existing ms file numbers will import the info but can't overwrite or save to an excel file, so it will create a copy named the same but in a numbers format. This should only happen when opening the old file for the first time after that the new numbers file should save without any duplication soz if this is of no help
  4. hi Steve, are you opening an older existing ms excel doc in numbers? or does this happen with newly created numbers files also ?
  5. ...thought I'd stick this here instead of hijacking another post, but theres so much written on here about music / records / places / memories and the fact that time marches on...that I thought it might be of use... @Twoshoes post about collecting made think of it...any anyone who has experience of dementia will know how debilitating it can be... the point is make your playlist now, as much as people know you, they can't select the tracks that get to you...
  6. "I recently started writing down in a book My Life In Music, I only add a record as it is playing on the deck, just a mixture of thoughts how the record makes me feel, where I first heard it, who it reminds me of, happy or sad memories, favourite part of lyric. It might when I'm gone give my kids a more personal insight into my life or they might just throw it in the bin." ...this is great...I'm sure it won't end up in the bin...
  7. ahh cool, the whole set up seems simple though, which is always a plus...look forward to the update...
  8. did you go for the audio technica deck?, let us know how you get on, and your thoughts on it...im always being asked about turntables but Ive had the same old kit for 30yrs...

  11. on the traditional amp front an audilab 8000a is reasonable and has an ok phono stage in it...fairly easy to find and reasonably priced second hand...
  12. ...do you have anything already? amp or speakers wise? will you be playing most of your music through the new set up or is it just for occasionally playing records? soz for the questions and nee answers
  13. hi Mike...Last one...i noticed that when I go to the home page, it looks looks like its loaded, but often at the bottom of the page say features videos or spotlight articles the images wont have loaded, if i try to navigate to somewhere else on the site ( say record wants) before all the images have loaded thats when the site stalls in safari... the home bar at the top looks like its loaded but it hasnt. If i wait till all the images load on the home page i can navigate the site without any lag issues...should i just move this query over to the "private support forum" as im just filling up space here, and its safari issue at my end anyway...
  14. ...ok just tried it, this was a newer mac, using the browser not the app, not signed in, and its also never been used to go to the site before, was fine for around four- five visits, (to site then off to say bbc and back..) then lag started so def in the way the cookies / history / cache is loaded when returning to the site, I've not really noticed this on other sites, but also I check here more often than others so??...
  15. I have a diff spec Mac (m3) will give it a try on there to see if the same issue happens
  16. Thanks Chalky, I cleared that he the other day and it speeds it up for a while then just seems to get bogged back down, like your first post said, hits the main page fine, then stumbles when trying to go elsewhere, sometimes its fine though which is annoying
  17. ... nope no change...well...once you blank the cache it works fine but gradually slows as the site is used, so def an issue with the cache/cookies in safari...(prob a way of saying I'm visiting the site too much) I'll use chrome for a while, there'll no doubt be an update along in a short while so that might resolve it..
  18. tried cleared all the cache / cookies again and unchecked the privacy preserving setting, and restarted, I'll let you know if it has an effect
  19. same here, browser not app, also an M1 CHIP
  20. yup, def a safari issue on the Mac here, no such issues using chrome on the Mac, site loads smoothly...strange one as when it loads in safari it works smoothly, will have a mess about with the tracking options
  21. Hi Mike, logged in or out, doesn't really make any difference, will try the other things later. it just loads or gets locked up
  22. Hi Mike, im just testing this logged in and out...I'll let you know later on...
  23. I'll have a check mike and let you know, thanks for the interest
  24. Hi Mike its an M1 mac with safari 18.5, seems to be a safari issue, as using the site with chrome with no issues, may be something in the cache or cookies which holds up the loading, once its loaded ( sometines it just wont) the site works fine but it happens again if you leave the site and return later, if that makes sense...
